Getting a board and can't decide between blue lake and red woody. I'm new to surfing, been out a couple times and was able to drop the rope and stay up for a bit. I was on a buddies hyperlite, not sure what kind though. I still have to work on my wake, not sure exactly how good it will get. I have a 2004 tige 20i and was using a 750lb sac on one side and 3 or 4 people doing 10mph. The wave had alot of height but was really short. (not sure if that would make a difference on which board to get). I weigh 200lbs.

IS Swallow. I have a Red board but never rode a blue board but the Swallow is an upgrade to the blue board. I weight 250 and can surf on a medium wake.

I bought the blue and I love it! I'm 200lbs

(Message edited by Duramat on December 07, 2009)

I'd go with the Blue Lake, it's great for everyone, then if you decide you want to step it up in the future, you can buy a board specific to you and still have the Blue Lake for everyone. I ride the Blue, I'm 215lbs and can surf just fine.

Thanks for the info. Any suggestions on what I can do for the wake?

Short steep wake => generally means that you either have too much weight in the back or your going too slow.

Or add weight up front.
