i know theres already tons of backroll post on here but i cant find one that says how high u need to be to do the trick. im gettin about 4-5 feet average on a jump. is that enough to do a backroll?

u really don't need that much height. u can do them out in the flats if u know how to work the line tension from the boat. 4-5 feet is high enough, but sounds like ur flattening ur board out and not getting the potental height for a backroll. make sure u edge all the way through the wake and stand tall at the top of the wake. this will give u more pop and more air. also try a shorter cut in at the wake. this will make u stay on edge. if u can do all these things u'll have no problem wtih air time.

you dont need to go that high at all
i am alot lower when im doin backrolls than when im crossing the wake
i think its better to do a slow rotation high in the air than a fast rotation low. when i do backrolls im about 7 or 8 feet high. this allows me to land my backroll out in the flats. it also gives you style points.
