it's a good thing you're looking for a new set-up; the 136 is way too small for you. no one here's going to be able to tell you exactly which board's right for you, but what everyone will agree on is that you might want to look at boards in the 140-143 range. the best thing to do is to go out and demo as many boards as possible. pick the one that you like the most. don't feel that you have to get used to a board just cause someone said it's the next best thing since sliced bread. riding isn't about trying to get used to a board; it's about having fun and progressing.

try to demo as many pairs of bindings as possible as well. you won't be able to fully appreciate board design if your feet aren't comfortable.

with all that said, make sure you check out liquid force shane 142 w/ shane or vantage bindings.

Ok that dose make a lot of sense. Where could I demo some boards just at a local board shop?

Thanks i will look into that board and bindings

yeah, check out your local shop. most shops will apply money spent on demos towards the purchase of a new set-up.

Bigger the better bro.... I'm 5'11" 160 and ride a 144. Unless ur spinning 10's you'll never regret going bigger. At least demo some larger stuff to see what you think. Make sure you demo different types too, ie... three stage, continuous, flex, wide, narrow, etc...

Yo Cole, listen to Joe. I used to ride CWB exclusively and heard nothing but good things about the Shane. I bought his son's board and it kicks a$$. Definitely bump it up tho bra, I'm 168 and ride a 136 and should probably be on a 140. Check out the Shane, you'll love it.

for your height i would suggest riding a 141, rusty 's new bio marek is a great all around board and will even support you has you progress , it may cost some but even if you just uses your current binding it will work out for u just fine

any suggestions for boards in the 100 to 200 dollar range i am thinking of the shane but idk how much it costs

stang_killa_ss 04-05-2010 5:54 PM

damn you must have been sinking, thats way too small of a board.
you need a 140 minimum. id go with a 142.
check out evogear.com for lots of good deals.

and define "intermediate rider"

2nd that bigger board, 155 and 5-11 on a 140, 140- 145 depending on what you like
evogear.com is great and so is ebay
evo is 300 bones for good package
ebay w patience you could do it for 200 although you might have to do board and bindings in seperate auction
def DEMO< DEMO if you can then shop those
