Looking to try something new, want to go light weight. I have a Marius, Kink, Ricky G boards and Vapor, Zeus and Answer bindings. Any ideas?

steezyshots 06-22-2009 12:04 PM

Sub 6 with Audio bindings

eyekahn 06-22-2009 12:05 PM

Slingshot.

pierce_bronkite 06-22-2009 12:07 PM

Ronix seems to have a very light setup. Board and boots.

snwmot 06-22-2009 12:09 PM

Company dude it's the way of the future lol seriously though

jaybee 06-22-2009 12:11 PM

I know nothing on the subject although every board I have lifted feels a lot heavier than my liquid force omega and shane boots.

I looked at the Ronix DHV2 and One bindings at the Fort Worth PWT, and I don't think I've ever seen a lighter set up... but I have never actually ridden either, nor have I picked up ever single board ever made so I do not know if this is the lightest

mtnrider65 06-22-2009 12:29 PM

My Byerly set-up weighs 11.8. Board & Boots

xbones 06-22-2009 12:43 PM

2009 Ronix one boots and board combo was the lightest in the industry, when it first hit the market. Not sure if one of the flex companies has the title now.. but that setup is INSANELY light.

dave27 06-22-2009 12:51 PM

2005 LF 134 Team and Shane bindings. Super light! Everyone that picks up my set-up says something about how light it is.

justinh 06-22-2009 12:56 PM

Mine: CSV1 143 and 2009 One boots: 10.25 <BR>Wife's: CSV1 138 and 2009 Frank boots: 10.00 <BR> <BR>Not to be a total dork, but I have a digital scale handy.

wakebums 06-22-2009 1:02 PM

My new slingshot was much lighter than anything else I've ever had!

gsulawwake 06-22-2009 1:51 PM

The 2009 Ronix Relik is very light. And the gel surface is very comfortable.

all_board_rider 06-22-2009 2:05 PM

have you tried a platinum marius? thats what im ridin with the answers and its a pretty light set up

bogartsomeday 06-22-2009 2:07 PM

I strongly suggest any CWB Platinum board if you want somethin light

mtownrydr 06-22-2009 2:11 PM

I doubt you could get any lighter than the sub vi mated with a 2009 ronix relik. I personally would like to know if anyone has ridden the dhv2 because that is what I want as soon as a good deal arises.

justinh 06-22-2009 2:51 PM

There won't be any deals on the the V2s unless you buy one used. Ronix has been out of those for months and there are not many left in circulation (at shops). If you don't want to pay retail prices, good luck on Ebay. <BR> <BR>To top it off, the board is absolutely amazing and worth the extra $$ if you have it to spend. <BR> <BR>For now I have to stick to the V1.

n00b 06-22-2009 3:00 PM

Byerly Monarch is the lightest board I have ever held.

jaybee 06-22-2009 3:02 PM

right, so if this thread has made anything clear it is you need to go to your local shop and judge for yourself.

sidekicknicholas 06-22-2009 3:08 PM

SS 142 Recoil = 7 lbs <BR>SS size 12 d2 boots mounted on that slingshot board.... 10.5 lbs UPS shipping scale, pretty accurate

bmartin 06-22-2009 3:20 PM

Wow - I'm kind of amazed there are so many nominations based on a variable that can be so easily and objectively assessed. Is it really possible to have a debate which is the lightest???? <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lol.gif" border=0> Surely some shop has a decent scale.

steezyshots 06-22-2009 3:34 PM

You know why they call it the SUB 6? Because it is under 6 pounds...

luke_j 06-23-2009 8:01 PM

FLY Watson with Reliks... 9.9 lbs. 5.8 on the board, 2.1 on the boots. (sz 10)

lfrider92 06-23-2009 8:36 PM

luke, 5.8+2.1=7.9 not 9.9

sidekicknicholas 06-23-2009 8:51 PM

Maybe its 2.1 lbs per boot...... <BR> <BR>then it would 10 lbs total.

luke_j 06-23-2009 9:00 PM

4.1... typing on iphone haha

spencerwm 06-23-2009 9:24 PM

If you feel like the weight of your setup is not what you want, make those feet burn. Barefooter's always have the lightest setup.

06-26-2009 9:49 AM

08 bylery monarch and 08 bylerly bindings are what i ride. when friends go to put it in the rack for me they are amazed at how light it is.

zak_winkler 06-26-2009 3:04 PM

LF Shane FLY with the Shane LTD's light board!!!

briand 06-26-2009 6:58 PM

again for the monarch. light

wakerider111 06-28-2009 3:38 PM

Probably the lightest board (per surface area) you can get hands down (based on what i have read and heard) <BR>is a custom made Sine wakeboard <a href="http://sinewakeboards.com/boards-black-series.html" target="_blank">http://sinewakeboards.com/boards-black-series.html</a> with the desired weight specified... Lighter than even 5 lbs if desired!! <BR><blockquote><hr size=0><!-quote-!><font size=1><b>quote:</b></font><p>To take things one step further- our Launch Series weigh in at approximately 6 lbs, depending on the size, but the ones I custom build for myself weigh around 5 lbs. I've even built some that are 4.25 lbs.... <BR> <BR>I would imagine that a board built to stand up to some pretty heavy abuse from a 230-250 pound guy would be weighing in around 7.5-8 lbs with our technology...<a href="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/678712.html?1239057127" target="_blank">http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/678712.html?1239057127</a><!-/quote-!><hr size=0></blockquote> <BR> <BR>but i am sure this extreme low weight is only recommended for smaller riders and/or those who have good physical habits for landing with less stress, which is mentioned in the link of the thread the quote was obtained from <BR> <BR>the <b>stock</b> boards are 6 lbs which has got to put SINE up there with the top handful without considering the custom black series even. <BR> <BR> <BR>(Message edited by wakerider111 on June 28, 2009)
