We saw somebody get knocked out on one on Sunday. They were catching air 10-15 feet, they were pulling into the crosswind and the thing went upside down and piled drived the person.. I looked like somebody took a frying pan to an ant. The person was obviously knocked out (despite a helmet) and two people jumped in the water to pull them in. They hung out for about 20 min, then took off.

there have been so many injuries and a couple of deaths already this year!

That's one extreme thing (I would not call it a sport) I will pass on.

Wakeboarding is just about as dangerous but people just get hurt so often that no one reports it like they do with the tubes. Kitetubes will get to that point, I think. If they arent banned first.

skeetersky13 07-14-2006 4:04 PM

they are now banned, actually on july 12th they were. guess it didnt last too long.

kingskrew 07-15-2006 4:54 PM

I'm pretty sure they were just voluntarily recalled per the manufacturer, not banned.

-Steve
