Starting to look like trouble for all you guys out west. Please tell me your lakes are at least filling up with all this rain!

extremeisaac 01-21-2010 5:01 PM

Lakes suck!

wake_upppp 01-21-2010 5:22 PM

All I know is Shasta better be filling. I dont want to miss the Shasta trip for a third year in a row due to low lake levels. I say let it keep raining cuz after three dry winters we have some cathing up to do.

ttrigo 01-21-2010 5:26 PM

the problem is all the rain in so cal. we would prefer tons of snow in the mountains of northen cali. that would sustain most of us so cal peeps just fine.

hillbilly 01-21-2010 5:31 PM

The local news (Sac area) said only Black Butte is letting water out. The Sac river came up 12 feet in the last couple of days measured at the Knights Landing bridge.

Now if the debris would clear up by Sunday I could ride the chocolate butter !

hbguy 01-21-2010 5:40 PM

http://www.capitalpress.com/california/TH-weather-012210-photos-infoboxes

Nope. Tanks aren't even 1/2 full.

Walt 01-21-2010 6:12 PM

I'm pretty sure my lake will be full by Monday.

grant_west 01-21-2010 6:39 PM

I looked at the Local water levels Shasta is up like 9 feet from a week or so ago. But still on 46% of full. We need more rain. Keep filling. I know everyone's lake can use it

rio_sanger 01-21-2010 7:30 PM

I agree with train, for us in So Cal, this much rain in this short of time has nowhere to go, but right into the ocean

Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that the lakes and reservoirs and the snow pack are filling up north, but being stuck in the house for four days on Wakeworld is beginning to drive me crazy!

hillbilly 01-21-2010 7:46 PM

Good luck to you So Cal folks !

You guy's are getting a bunch of rain and everyone is on edge for slides. Hpefully none happen !

rnopr8 01-21-2010 10:13 PM

Problem is the lakes will be drained for agriculture by the middle of summer. Someone thinks its more important to feed people than to wakeboard!!

ktm525 01-22-2010 6:30 AM

We are riding at Berryessa on Saturday 1-23-09. I wonder how far it came up since 2 weeks ago when we were there.

l1spoogy 01-22-2010 8:56 AM

No updates on Berryessa Lake level in the past few days. According to the paper it went from 61% to 65%.

http://cdec.water.ca.gov/cgi-progs/queryDaily?BER

Below is a webcam you can control and look at Pleasure Cove. Its all the way to the right. Just pan over and zoom in. Looks pretty muddy right now.

http://nrs.ucdavis.edu/quail/Technical/DFGEYE.htm

stephan 01-22-2010 9:10 AM

Our lake has come up significantly, but it will be a couple months at least before we can ride it. Nacimiento has a huge watershed and when it rains it goes up fast. Unfortunately that means it picks up every nasty bit of tree, dock, buoy and floats it in the middle of the lake. Takes months and strong winds to make it doable, even then you are dodging crap.

Bring more rain!!!

bkoz 01-22-2010 12:55 PM

Shasta is up 50' from this time last year and we're still getting rain up here so its looking pretty good.

ghostrider_2 01-27-2010 12:15 PM

Good for So Cal (Northen Mexico as I call it)to get water as maybe they can quit mooching water from us up here in Northern Cali.

lifetimewarranty 01-27-2010 12:22 PM

"Good for So Cal (Northen Mexico as I call it)"

HAHAHA! I've been calling it that for years. Grew up in SB.

(sweet boat btw Kenny)

Walt 01-27-2010 2:35 PM

Just about full.

motogod77 01-27-2010 2:47 PM

Nice Walt - my buddie is going up there tomorrow to check on the level for me - now I know. We are way above average here on Clearlake too - almost 4.5 feet above Rumsey and average is just under 3' - can't wait!

Walt 01-27-2010 4:22 PM

TQ,
That pic was from last Saturday.
It's around 70% but they are dumping at the dam right now. I'm sure they could top it off in less than a day when they slow the out-flow.

gunz 01-27-2010 5:02 PM

Sonoma is now 100%.

First time in 4 years.

Walt 01-27-2010 5:09 PM

Maybe Mendo will fill up too.

supraride 01-27-2010 5:10 PM

Any updates on Shasta?

wake_upppp 01-27-2010 5:33 PM

gunz 01-27-2010 6:27 PM

epic1 01-27-2010 8:24 PM

i had a conversation with the executive legal cousel for the Department of Water Resources the other night ab some of this and he seemed very optimistic ab where the state is heading in regards to its handling of water.

the snowpack is what we should all be concerned ab. not just SoCal but NorCal as well. like others have said the heavy rains are just a short term cure for everything but if we can get a substantial snowpack that can hold through out the summer then we'll be in a much better position.

mendo247 01-28-2010 10:10 AM

Mendo is half full! Ramps are open. Its actually higher right now then it was all last year.

westsidarider 01-28-2010 4:03 PM

I was on a road trip early this week and passed by mcclure, melones and pedro. I didnt get a great look at mcclure, only a peak, but it still looked very low. Melones and pedro looked to be doing very well. I dont know what percentage they're at but i know from when i have been there in the past durring the summer its about the same if not higher

v220ls 01-28-2010 6:18 PM

Folsom today! We need a lot more water!!!!

v220ls 01-28-2010 6:22 PM

I hate resizing pictures. Above is Folsom point launch. This is over by the Hobby ramp

v220ls 01-28-2010 6:24 PM

Looking out at the main body of the lake from the day use at Folsom Point.
Sure would like to ride that butter!!!!

brett564 01-28-2010 7:24 PM

I just checked Lake Elsinore. The area got just over 6 inches of rainfall last week, which resulted in a 4 foot rise at the lake.

mendo247 01-28-2010 7:39 PM

Folsom is low lol

detonate69 01-28-2010 7:55 PM

Please bring more water. The higher the lakes get the less people are out on the delta.....

bfnaci 01-30-2010 6:59 PM

Naci in Central Calif is gaining about 1% per day.
We are at 37% with 15 inches of rain fall so far this year. The knuckle heads at Monterey County Water let 20' out in November after that nice big rain in October. Do you know how much water 20' is on a 14 mile long lake?? Someone explain that?

(Message edited by bfnaci on January 30, 2010)

Was at a meeting last Sunday with a few board members from MID (Merced Irrigation District.) They are expecting McClure to be almost full this Summer. A lot of snow pack up towards Yosemite. But we will see. Maybe they were just telling us what we wanted to hear.

wake_upppp 01-30-2010 9:20 PM

Shasta up 13 feet and gaining!

dohboy 01-31-2010 10:26 AM

It always amazes me how Shasta can fill several feet in a couple days. Its such a big place.

marc_g001 01-31-2010 1:49 PM

Oroville is still low! You can only get in if you wanna back it in through the mud. Anyone know what Camp Far west (CFW) is like?

bg__dereks_mom 01-31-2010 5:25 PM

Lake McClure 4:00 Sunday afternoon. Still a little low, but working its way up.

dirwoody 02-01-2010 12:01 PM

Your lakes have gone up more in the last month than most NE lakes are deep....that's nuts

Walt 02-01-2010 4:57 PM

We rode Mendocino yesterday. The South ramp is open now. Butter all day and no boats. It was a little woody and there were a few lake dragons floating around though.

v220ls 02-02-2010 11:41 AM

Damn, damn Walt look at that butter... We are still low, water and 5mph here in Sac. Nice shots... Rain baby rain.

McClure looks beautiful wow!

I bet CFW is just a mud puddle? Might have to run out there and take a peek.
G

(Message edited by V220LS on February 02, 2010)

Send some water here ! We have been in a drought ever since the 3 hurricanes hit us in 2004. Our Chain of Lakes is no more, all the canals are dried up !!

delweed 02-03-2010 9:17 AM

New Hogan has come up 15ft for the month of jan
but still a long way to go but 2 ramps open now.

ktm525 02-03-2010 3:39 PM

We have Ridden at Berryessa the last 3 weekend in a row and going this weekend. It has come up at least 8 feet in the last couple of weeks. Markley Cove in using the main launch ramp again.

hillbilly 02-04-2010 3:56 PM

Don whats the water temps? high 40's?

bkoz 02-08-2010 3:48 PM

Shasta just hit the 1000' mark. Only about 60 more feet for it to be full.

wake_upppp 02-08-2010 6:40 PM
