I have broken two proline delta carbon handles in two weeks. On both the rope came out of the handle and I thought that it could be put back in. I took it back to the shop I got it at and was told that there is a carbon bar inside that breaks and then the handle is trash. I wrote Proline and have received no response. I have also not received any handle back yet. Has this happened to anyone else? I am 240 lbs, but there is no weight limit on the handles or lines. Am I the only one with bad luck and proline?

Call em, it works much better. Go with the tried and true LG or Synthesis handle. Much better product IMO.

happened to me and I sent it to them and they sent me a new one

I called them and they said that it has been a bit of a problem this year, lots of breakage. No one could tell me if the new series would be fixed in this regard. at my local shop they have returned like a good half dozen for problems. I have heard straight from the company that another problem they are having is the leather handle gets wet and stretches, possibly tearing. Has this happened to anyone? so far I have graduated from the old hard rubber/foam handles to just be disappointed with quality in the new stuff which seems made to last a (one) season.

Sorry to hear that man. I've got the Militia handle, which is identical to the Delta aside from the paint job, and I've had zero problems with it. Everyone who rides on my boat uses it and there aren't any signs of wear. We're all in the 150-185 lbs range so that might be why, but so far so good in my experience with the Proline carbon handles. They're customer service is top notch though, so I wouldn't really worry about getting replacements or a different handle.

They contacted me by email and said although I have a replacement from the dealer, they could not assure me that the handle would be good. Its a design flaw that they are fixing and have fixed as of now, but have no way of knowing if what I have is fixed, so they are sending me an extra at no charge that is good!! How cool is that!

Nice man, doesn't surprise me though. Proline/CWB are great like that

I have had a great experience with Proline. Sent in my handle because of the leather didn't hold up at all. 5 days later, I have a new handle on my doorstep.

Call them. Don't email them. I am still waiting on a response to my email. But I don't care, the call worked 1000x's better.
