I typically use a float charger to keep my batts charged and preserved in my boat. With a float charger am I best just disconecting the batteries for the winter like I normally would or is it better just to keep plugged in for the winter? Thanks

If you don't need to keep power on to the boat (alarms, bilge pumps, stereo channel memory, etc) then your best bet is to take the battery out of the boat and keep it in the garage. Put it on a charger one night a month and it will be fine.

If you want to leave them in the boat then I would leave them connected, no reason not to. If the boat is outside then it might actually be a wise thing to leave the bilge pumps operational.
