Putting the plugs back in tomorrow, and the manual says to coat the plugs with pipe sealant? Only thing I know about is teflon tape? Is it the same stuff, or do they make something different?

Thanks

That'll work fine. Pipe sealant is teflon paste

it's paste you can get at any hardware store
teflon tape does the same thing but not sure if it can take the same temps as the paste

I would stay away from dope (pipe Sealant) in your boat. It makes a mess, it doesn't come out of carpet and its a pain to clean up when you do it again next year. Not that you will spill but tape works just as well and is easy to clean off next year. Teflon tape will hold up to anything you engine can throw at it. If you want the extra assurance, buy the grey teflon tape designed for stainless piping. That stuff is the best stuff out there. Just make sure you apply the tape in the direction of the threads. You will be golden.

The yellow pipe tape is for hot water- steam and would also work great, and I second the stay away from dope! That stuff sucks and never dries.
