Yea, I just tore my MCL and PCL wakeskating like 2 months ago. It really messed up things in my life, Rehabe and all of that.

If I remember right there was a guy last year from So-Cal that broke His femur and died from a blood clot.

I tore my ACL last spring wakeskating.... still not able to ride... but if I had kept up with the PT Id prolly be riding now so dont let that scare you.

I was at a wakeboard/wakeskate camp a couple years ago and there was a slider there that had 1 pvc pipe then another one parallel with like a 4 or 5 inch gap inbetween them and one of the guys running the camp was wakeskating and did a board slide and one of his feet fell between the pipes up to his knee and he fell sideways and like broke his knee sideways. it was messed up

Tore my rectus clear off the bone. W2W landed w front foot on the board, back foot into the water. Did the splits at about 27 mph. It was a routine move for me. Done it probabaly a 100 times with no problem. Still not healed completely. Can't wait to get back on my board. Hopefully by summer.

shaun murray messed up his acl, mcl, pcl, and i think one more tendon/ligament/whatever in his knee. he was just messing around going wake to wake this past summer at his school on the way back to the dock at the end of the day. he's barely getting back on the water.

dguimbellot 03-14-2005 8:19 PM

what's a rectus?

air_sv211 03-16-2005 10:21 AM

I've done the 1 leg on 1 leg off landing on a W2W, hurt for a month but nothing serious. <BR>

Botched a w2w last week and took a fin to the head...nice 2.5" gash and a minor concusion

Friend of mine tried to go wake to wake last night on a skate and landed on it. Got a golf ball size bump on his ankle and cut his arm pretty good. No medical attention but we put the skate away for the night....

stage 3 hamstring tear landing W2W with one foot on and one off. Was a Routine trick 3 years ago, but cant do W2W any more, stick to boots for that one now.

wakecrzy2000 08-01-2005 2:46 PM

blow to the ribs and a brused arm

columbiatch 08-26-2005 7:22 AM

pretty deep board rash from landing on my grip-tapped board. Bled and oozed for a week or so.

shavis 09-11-2005 11:49 PM

the other tendon murray ripped was his meniscus....acl, mcl, pcl and meniscus.....that is like a complete thrashing of the knee....that has got to be pain beyond belief....

p_e_ski 09-12-2005 7:00 PM

went through the chop from a big wave runner and one foot came off. the foot that stayed on, twisted real bad. Swelled up real big, and got blue. Couple days of stretching and heat and it feels better.

whirlynuke02 09-13-2005 6:34 PM

worst ive had was skate to the ribs and a hand to the fin which swelled up a bit

abomb 09-14-2005 8:18 PM

several bad grip tape rashes a few head shots, but the worse was a routine toeside w2w in a little rough water that i bailed on in the middle... I held on to the rope as usual to seperate me and the board but when i hit the water my legs were apart and the board (grubb)came flying in between my legs... cut my sac 1.5" open... everything is still there but was very painful and kept me out of the water a few weeks to prevent infection..

chadricko 10-13-2005 8:41 PM

saw someone rip open their heel by not wearing shoes on a foam top board and the board fliped over and the fin cut their heel wide open.

saltsk8 10-22-2005 10:03 PM

grip tape rashes, gashes in the head, and plenty of pulled groins. I notice that the more defined edges of my byerly board always seem to make thier way to my head and cause more damage then when I ride my cassete??
