Ok, so looking to spend some money this offseason, and wanted to add some ballast..

current set up

v drive sacks in the back 500 lbs each
kgb center ballast
integrated bow sack 300lbs..

a lot of the time it's just my girl and me, so that's not quite enough weight, especially for a good surf wake..

was thinking about adding the moveable fatsack block with handles, 150 lbs and maybe the rear seat sack http://www.wakeside.com/product/boat/ballast/ballast_bags/fly+high+pro+x+series+rear+seat+sac.do

thoughts?? any other ways to add weight that's smarter??

Jeff I have a 05 x2 it’s the same as your x1 I pot some skylon fat sacs in the back there were 500 lbs each a 600 lbs in the walk way and 100 lbs of led under the front seats . The wake is nice and big and hard I don’t do that anymore I took out the hard tanks and pot fly high 750 in place of the hard tanks and the skylon bags. If you like the ideal of this setup I am trying to sell the 2 skylon bags an a 2000 gph pump for $150

Ive also got a 05 X2. 400lb flyhigh vdrive sacs on each side of motor, stock kgb belly sac and 600lbs of pop bags under bow cushions. You want as close to 50/50 weight distrabution in this boat maybe even 45% rear and 55% bow.

the pops bags are nice. we use them in our 06 x-2 along with the fly high system

I know the x1 is supposed to be a price point boat but why the hell was the stock ballast only two hard tanks in the back. Especially when we all know that boat needs weight to push the wake up. I found a nice x1 but to pay that kind of money and have to add something up front is ridiculous.

factory option is the kgb...370 sac in ski locker

get a large sac for the walkway in the bow. That is the best ballast addition my buddy made to his X-1. I'd also suggest a few hundred pounds in lead to move around the boat.

Greg

Every stock ballast I have seen in an X1 they just had the two hard tanks in the back. Paying $40k plus for a boat that HAS to have ballast should have one in the locker area or bow.

it's a $800 option...
