Just saw this thread and got registered on the site.
Yes, Wake the World KC will be happening July 18th at Camp Branch Marina on Smithville Lake, just outside KC. It will be benefiting the children of Gillis Children's home.
We did a tour of the home last month. The staff and children are great and we are very excited to provide this opportunity to them.
The home is 40-50 children, so we are hoping to get 10-12 boats to volunteer. As of March, we are 1/2 way there.
If you are in the area, please consider volunteering. It is a very rewarding experience seeing how much joy the kids get from the event.
