went out to shasta today. the lake is @ 9.5 feet from the top and still filling. water temp 72 degrees in some spots and 77 in others. still some sticks and logs floating about so be careful. looks like a great summer ahead for boating, boarding, etc. etc. even with gas prices the way they are, lots of boarders out today and ready to rock. enjoy.

Was there today, air temp in the 90's water low 70's, no wind a great day.
How much is gas on the lake? I need to know if I need to sell the kid and dog to get some gas money before we head down this summner.
$4.20 at Antlers marina, $3.23 at the Shell station on the corner. I pulled mine out to refuel.
Man that's alot of green backs for a gallon of fun.

A couple of old college buddies from Chico and I are headed up there this weekend...taking their parents houseboat out of BridgeBay. It says it's supposed to rain on Saturday but I don't buy it. Hopefully we dodge any logs, etc. Anyone else going to be up there this weekend?
We'll be staying in my RV at Holliday Harbor starting Friday morning. Look for us, I have a turquoise, white and grey Sanger DX with a white tower. We'll be up around the Obrian inlet and in Baileys cove a bit as well.
Sorry for the hi-jack.....does Holiday Harbor have any (land based) lodging?
Not sure but you can call 530-238-2383 to find out. I dont think they do. Antlers has cabins and I think Silverthorn also may have some cabins? Bridge Bay has a nice hotel thats real resonable price wise and they also have a resterant and store.
Holiday Harbor doesn't have any lodging...just houseboats and a campground. www.lakeshasta.com

Byron...we'll be in the Sanger V210 you see on my profile. Hoping for Shasta glass...
We will be there Fri. through Sun. filming. Look for a red & gray Moomba LSV and a Black & yellow Supra.

I'll be there this weekend. I'm not seeing any rain in the forecast either. Should be nice. However, it will be a no wake boat weekend as my boat is in the shop. I'm just going to enjoy the lake and maybe bring the Doos.
Matt...you usually park over in Little Backbone right? I think you and I were supposed to hook up over Labor Day last year...you have a blue X-star right? Not sure where we'll be parked since it's not my boat but look for the purple Sanger with the black, purple, grey and pink bimini and that's me! Randy...what are you guys filming? My buddy that'll be with me does video production professionally...would love to hook up and check it out.

Sangeria
Sang, will be with a crew out of WA. state, NxStep films shooting Robby Carter, Chris Craig & and my son Alex. Not sure where we will be, but will be camping at Antlers, might run up the Mcloud arm one of the days. If we get over to the backbone well look for you. A purple Sang should be easy to see.
Randy - KILLER PIC, thats storybook style right there!

Matt & Kimmy - Take lots of pics for us.... Any news on the "Catchin Any" houseboat? Can you snap a couple pics of slaughterhouse & lil Backbone if your in that area? Give Kimmy & the kids my best & we will have to figure out where you guys will be tie'n up for Mem Day.

Lzy
Randy we were up the Mcloud arm on Sunday. Besides the debree it was epic. Not fun hitting sticks on a foil though. However for some reason we had to cut our day short. Just kidding.
Travis, sorry about that, I will call you later. Maybe you can help me figure out what was up with my trailer breaks. We need to find you guys this weekend so we can get some footage of your little girl shredding that Sky Ski. Thanks again for last week............
Randy it was no problem at all. As for your trailer all I did was hook up to it and pull forward a couple feet. Then put it in reverse and the brakes released fine. unfortunatly we have company this weekend and may have a hard time making it to the lake. I will try. Ryleigh landed 6 switch 180's in a row last weekend. Thanks for lighting a fire under her butt.

Sangeria,

I remember that. At one point, I thought I saw you but couldn’t be sure. Yes, I have a blue X-Star (that is soon to have a blue tower) and our favorite cove on the lake is Little Backbone. We always park on the right hand side of the cove. However, this weekend, I’m going with Kimmy and her houseboat is moored at Silverthorne. Thus, we will most likely head towards Squaw Creek (but not very far up that arm).

Aaron,

I got some great news from Tom last night regarding the Catch’n Any. The motor has been pulled, the engine compartment has been removed and the new engine compartment has arrived. It is slated to be welded onto the Catch’n Any this Friday. We are now in the “glass half full” mindset for Memorial Day. I’m going to the repair yard this weekend when I’m up there to get the full, see for myself, report. I’ll report back on Monday with pictures of the repair status and the lake.

As for my X-Star, it is supposed to be returned from the tower shop in Modesto to Copes this Friday. After that, they have to do a few more items but I am optimistic it will be ready by Memorial Day. If not, I’m taking your keys and your new toy-LOL.
