Wake 2 Wake Height

1 Attachment(s)
I finally cleared the wake on my heelside, now I need help on getting more height. This picture shows me right at the top of the wake. Does it look like I need to stand taller?

oh yea. do you take a aggressive cut into the wake ? it looks like the board is rather flat. if so try a slower more progressive edge and stand tall .

I do but...I think that when I try to stand tall I am flattening the board out.

No if you have a slight leaning edge you will be actually diging your edge in more and getting more pop. Looks like you are completely absorbing the wake with your knees right there.

Thanks

take a slow turn into your cut, building speed consistently, your fastest speed should be right at the top of the wake. Position-wise, picture sitting in a chair on your cut in, then at the top of the wake, stand up out of your chair. That really helped me to get more pop. you do NOT need to cut hard to go big

hope that helps

how did you figure out how to stand tall with out flattening the board out?

cwb4me 06-17-2010 7:58 PM

heel side stand up on your heels toes pointed up . toeside stand up on your toes. make sure you tighten your quads and your glutes and point your chest to the sky.the same as you would do on a trampoline to get height.the stiff body +angle edge=increased pressure on the water reacts to the wake . boat pushes water down to the bottom reaction water pushes back up and makes wake or high water pressure area.einstein every action has a equal but opposite reaction . your stiff body lets you use it. okay lets get some AIR!

thanks...i'll try that this weekend

Pretty much what everyone else said should get you more height. It's all timing. And I really just have to point out to Robert, it's Newton not Einstein.
