Driving back to the dock yesterday we saw this boat with their own interesting and original kind of ballast.. Yeah...I have a friend who sacks out his old Nautique with rubbermaids that he buckets water into. But he is 10x the rider I am, so like you said...whatever it takes to get the wake.

Used to use one fat sack, two coolers full of water, and a rubbermaid tub filled with weights and then water. It was a 95 sea ray that we mounted an extended pylon to, and then clamped some wood blocks to and added a pair of infinity 6100m tower speakers with the PA mic. We used to do the same with old 5 gallon peanut oil containers (that we did some dumpster diving for). We left them filled up at a hidden spot and would just ride by a pick them up when it was time for sets.

We used to have a similar set up. My buddy found these jugs that use to house some sort of liquid...anyway, they were about 10 gallons each and we had about 12 of them on the boat. It was a pain to have to dip them in the water everytime we went and out and then empty them when we were done. But it certainly worked for our needs!

we would take those water jugs from my parents and fill the boat up with them. The big 30 pounders. Nope, these were some sort of industrial use jug. We found them at AAA liquidation. They smelled like Mt. Dew syrup...

We used to fill the rubber maids with sand and dirt (because it wouldn't splash out) until my buddies parents found out about it.

Nothing wrong with that. My first Ballast was a 55 gallon drum with no top on it! It splashed EVERYwhere and everyone!~

I have 3 barrels that I got from a friend at work. They are barrels that are used to ship large quantities of raw protien. The best part is they have a nice water tight seal on the top. Each one with water in it probably weighs close to 80-90 lbs. I've used them for almost 10 yeats now and they work great.
