I bought a 06 BU last fall used. Took it up to my dealer 4 hours away to have it inspected for the warranty transfer and sent the paper work into indmar. They stated that the dealer did not do the inspection right, the dealer needed to do a compression test and so on. Being they are 4 hours away I never made it back to finish the inspection. Well I spoke to indmar and they will still transfer the warr. I still need to get an inspection done which I can do when I take my boat up for some work this spring. My question is.... should I even bother having it transfered for 1 summer of riding. My warr expires April of 2009. It would cost me 400 dollars for one year. Has anyone had problems with the drive train in a V-Ride BU??

$400 is a pretty cheap and easy way to have peace of mind. IMHO. I would do it. But that is just me.

Your Lifetime hull warrany is part of this too. I'd do it.
|
you should have two seperate warranty's, one for the engine and oen for the hull. if its' just the egnine that is $400 I'd pass on that.
|
will the hull warranty has nothing to do with indmar. Scooter I'd do it because indmar has been known to honor their engine warranties past the expiration date, at least I've heard of several instances that is. I wouldn't pay your dealer a dime for the compression test either since they should have already done that for you.

Look for a local place that is certified on indmar motors and see if they can do it for you.

I will agree with nu bu. The dealer should have known better.

(Message edited by redsupralaunch on February 07, 2008)

I'd pass. Warranties rarely get used. If you pocketed all the money you spent on warranties, and extended warranties, how much would you have?
|
if the warranty is only for the motor and is up in less than a year I'd save the money especially as long as you're reasonably comfortable with the shape the motors in.
|
Save your money. As long as you take care of that boat, nothing major will break.
