I have been reading numerous posts about edging through the wake so my frien video taped my runs tonight. I almost pulled a 180, ya i know pathetic but i am happy. I totally stop at the wake. My edge is good too it but before the wake i do this like double bounce thing and totally flatten out. I am having trouble getting pop and standing up without flattening my board.
I have the same problem...It is hard to break old habits...Just visualize...I am starting to get the hang of it, and I have also been trying to pay attention to my edging to see where I go wrong.

you should video tape your run. It makes it so oudvious. I couldn't beleive how much i let up. My pull just stopped. It makes me mad cuz i am finally getting my carve into the wake down. Now just gotta keep it going.

Try jumping the wake from only about 5' outside. That will force you to cut hard and edge through the wake. A lot of people let off because they have too much speed going into the wake, so if you start just a couple of feet outside you won't have that problem. It's a good way to practice your cut and edging.
Bill is right a lot of rooks take themselves way outside the wake cut superhard then get a little scared intimidated or whatever and let off. The point is either do what bill says or cut out and start you edge super slow a cut harder slowly!

(Message edited by westcoastrider on August 12, 2002)
