Do you need to keep the camera pointed at the center of the wake and start shooting when the rider enters the frame? <BR> <BR>or do you follow the rider with the camera and let the editting software make the sequence?

either should work. not sure how well the rider will be in focus if you shoot the center of the wake though.

If you sit in the back center of the boat and focus on the rider while he's in the middle of the wake your focus will not change no matter where the rider goes. (Pendulum) <BR> <BR>I've never shot sequence but I'm guessing that it would work out better if you didn't pan with the shot. <BR> <BR>Focus manually or use focus lock and keep the camera pointed at the center of the wake and fire away. <BR> <BR>I think it would be easier to stitch the shots together in PhotoShop this way. <BR> <BR>I'm just guessing though. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/uhoh.gif" border=0>

There was someone in the wakeboarding forum doing sequence shots a few weeks ago and they looked great. try doing a search.

I've found that you can pan a little bit but the background has to be right to get away with it.

I pan a little on mine, the background is going to change some because you are not perfectly stationary. I've never had problems stitching together the sequences though. What I do is pull in all of the images to photoshop and leave them full size. I change the opacity so I can see both images and line up the trees or wake as best I can.
