dabell 05-10-2007 8:29 AM

Your best bet is tigeowners.com. Someone has started a thread there related to wakes.

I would have one but the boat is in the shop and last weekends excursion to Folsom Lake was TERRIBLE.... Swells were high and wind was blowing.....

ssteele013 05-10-2007 8:44 AM

dang that sucks now that dallas has been getting some rain we can go ride in better spots

I'm pretty sure you need to register in order to see the pics over there.

Just to play along here's the only shot I have handy and it aint even very good. I don't know that it really counts anyways though as it is far from a new Tige. Man, 2000 is now old school. Oh well, what are you gonna do? It's paid for.

nickypoo, you are correct about having to be registered to see pictures.

Looks a little washy and damn that's a nasty rooster tail.

nickypoo 05-10-2007 11:03 AM

Like I said, old-schoolin'. Flat bottom D-drives are not the best wakeboard platforms. That hull in non-existent these days. The picture is a bit deceptive. The roost isn't as bad as it looks in the pic, but it's not the best in the world. The crest always has a tick of wash to it if you are balanced out right, but it has never bothered me. It helps in defining where the lip is. The wake is actually deceptively large. With 1000 lbs and 10 people it's pretty good for a flat bottom. The ramp is so long that it just doesn't have the look of a kicker. Just gotta wait a while before you get to the top, but it will send you after some getting used to.

Where the hell are the rest of you Tige owners? Leaving me out here all alone with my little ol' D-drive. Shame on you. Represent already fools.

dabell 05-10-2007 11:08 AM

Nick, mine is in the shop.... Didn't take pictures last year... Ops, wait... I have some but they are at home... Will post some tonight.....

joe1975 05-10-2007 11:08 AM

how do i post a pic in the message itself? Tell me Nick, and i will oblige...

nickypoo 05-10-2007 11:25 AM

click the upload attachment button. Then click browse and it should send you to "my pictures" on your computer. Double click a pic and it should show up in in the upload window. click upload and you should be good to go. One little tip is to put a couple of lines in between your text and you image. That will keep the image below your text.

Tige wakes suck

nickypoo 05-10-2007 5:43 PM

Yeah, nice try.

ssteele013 05-10-2007 7:33 PM

ha yeah so much for that

rkinsell 05-11-2007 9:33 AM

I really respect the dual sport aspect of Tige. You can Kneeboard AND tube behind it. Its nice that Sea Ray finally has some competition.}

nickypoo 05-11-2007 9:42 AM

And the wake behind your boat is great because....?

hyperlink 05-11-2007 9:47 AM

Ryan, may I ask what kind of boat you own??

timmyb 05-11-2007 9:59 AM

My guess would be that Ryan does not own a Tige..LOL

dabell 05-11-2007 10:07 AM

He owns a SAN 210....

Anyways, back to Tige's wakes.

nickypoo 05-11-2007 10:30 AM

Oh, I see, the boat is not the problem, it's penis size that seems to be the issue. That's sad.

Anyways, back to the Tige's.

(Message edited by Nickypoo on May 11, 2007)

dabell 05-11-2007 12:14 PM

bhog 05-11-2007 1:37 PM

Im going to be honest. I wasnt impressed when I rode behind a Tige. However The TAPS was broke and stuck in the middle. That was a few years ago though. I would really like to ride behind one that is dialed in and judge then. I have always liked the 03 & up looks and the width of the boat. So if anyone in dallas wants to give me a pull, let me know.

nickypoo 05-11-2007 3:38 PM

They are about 180 degree departure from a Nautique wake. A good friend of mine had one very similar to yours and it was really tough to switch between the two. He ended having to dump his boat due to a divorce and he has since gotten real used to mine and can land everything WTW as where he was always landing in the flats behind his 'Tweak. Just takes some time. No offence on the "'Tweak" comment, it's just what we called it.

Off topic- Bhog, did you keep those kickass graphics? I love those.

ssteele013 05-11-2007 7:55 PM

nope no points was awarded..
but britt go to the slalom shop in lewisville

rkinsell 05-11-2007 9:58 PM

nickypoo,
I like how you have attempted to change the subject from "wake size" to "penis size" but I can see how you would be upset if you recently bought a tige. After doing some research, I was able to find some great qualities of Sea Rays... I mean Tige.

1. There is plenty of room for your knee boards, tubes, and gear since you can't pick up any chicks with a Tige

2. The boat looks "cute" behind your rainbow stickered vehicle.

3. You don't ever have to worry about the "no wake" areas of the lake.

4. You don't have to worry about those "STEEP" wakes that just throw you way up in the air (Its a nice, gentle bump).

5. Tige has been putting pressure on not only the I/o's to up there wake technology, but also the pontoon wakeboarding market.

tyboarder03 05-11-2007 10:16 PM

First off Ryan you're a moron...period
Now to the Tiges agreed there are some good looking wakes up here now but nothing too spectacular. I mean I'm sure I could do every trick I'm capable of behind any of the above boats... but I'm still not too impressed with especially the 24ve pics with 1800lbs! looks ok but 1800 lbs in a lot of other boats would dwarf that wake. Again just my opinion no bashing intended just an observation.

05mobiuslsv 05-12-2007 12:21 AM

Ryan you're cracking me up, let's hear some more...

pwningjr 05-12-2007 2:28 PM

just be glad you have a wakeboat-
im riding behind a '77 tri-hull 15ft outboard with no pylon/tower and no weight except the people in the boat...funtime!

tyboarder03 05-12-2007 3:38 PM

It's always fun if you're out the water with the people you enjoy

05mobiuslsv 05-13-2007 1:48 PM

The wakes look like the wakes from my boat, unweighted

justridin 05-13-2007 10:50 PM

But all those spare wedge bolts you need to carry still count as weight

05mobiuslsv 05-14-2007 6:29 AM

I forgot to count those

nickypoo 05-14-2007 10:44 AM

Wow ryan, you really make yourself sound like punk. Let's see, your first contribution to this thread was "Tige wakes suck". Just because they are not your wake, doesn't necessarily make F'n so. But that's fine, a little ribbing aint nothing' to me. But you had to push didn't you? You're infantile responses just go to show what kind "man" you are or, more to the point, aren't. Good luck with the attitude.

Tyler- one thing to keep in mind is the weight capacity on a 24Ve. I can't seem to find the exact specs, but I do know it's more that 1800 lbs. I do know it's rated for 16 people. If those "people" are figured at 150lbs each, that's 2400lbs. Not sure what they figure a "person" is in their calculations, but I figure my # is somewhat conservative. Weight capacities in Tige's have always been high comparatively, therefore it takes more to get them to sink as deep. So yeah, 1800lbs would be a ton of weight for most towboats.

whocares 05-14-2007 11:25 AM

Ryan, I like how u spend your valuable time getting on wakeworld to tell everyone how big ur penis is cause u have a SAN 210. Just to let you know that doesnt increase size, but I saw an infomercial on someting called EXtendZ. Sounds like you need to give them a call. If ur so macho you would have better things to do than post on wakeworld how much better your wake is than everyone else's. P.S. 1-800-EXTENDZ is the number I think

zeda 05-14-2007 8:39 PM

Maybe Ryan's mad because he needs a really steep wake to get him in the air....naturally making him a tige basher because his skills are not good enough to ride good behind any wakeboard boat. Point is, Byerly, Murray, Parks, etc... were all going pretty big (even for today's standards) behind direct drive ski boats without towers or tons of ballast. Ryan, grow up and respect other people's boat decisions and try to sound somewhat educated when discussing the pros and cons to different boats.

And by the way, I've spent lots of hours behind tiges and think the wake is just as good as the best out there if properly weighted. One of my good friends has an older model that throws one hell of a wakeboarding wake and a killer surf wake. He runs around 1500 pounds of ballast.

tyboarder03 05-14-2007 8:51 PM

Nick- Very true but most people with boats from 23-25 feet need atleast about 3k plus passengers to get a really large wake.

oaf 05-14-2007 9:01 PM

Pictures people Pictures

Funny how any thread about a Tige becomes a pissing contest by every other guy with another boat. Guys must be getting jealous or realize that Tige makes a boat just as nice as their (insert brand here) boat.

zeda 05-14-2007 9:14 PM

Coach.....

I used to own a tige and now own a cc220. I also find it funny that people like to bash tige. I think they are threatened by tige because they are becoming a major factor in the industry. I will always say good things about tiges...by far one of my favorites. BTW, you have a beautiful boat.

oaf 05-14-2007 9:27 PM

Jason-

Thanks. I don't know why all of the bashing? I have neighbors with Mastercrafts and most of my buddy's have custom boats (Magic, Ultra, DCB). I think all of the major makers make a nice boat. Now I just need to take some picks of my non ballast wake (unless you count all of my fat ass friends) this weekend so I can contribute to this thead.

timmyb 05-15-2007 8:21 AM

I'll try and snap a few pics this weekend since I don't have any ballast either. Off topic - DCB? Gawd those boats are SICK!!!! Would love to have one of those when I'm like 60 - LOL.

Don't buy into their trash. Their trolls online, and kooks on the water. We've all seen them, laughed at their acts, their online bravato, but 99% here, know what they really are.
All of the top manufactures, say top 10-12, have good points and have bad points. If your any one owner, whose been around longer than a few days, we can recite these all day long. From the X to the VLX, there's something top and bottom about em. Debating, I'm better than you, because your's does this, is laughable, because I can check you right back-most times far harsher than your grade school vocabulary will allow for. But, what's the point? Their still kooks, and I have sold out to debate a troll. Talk is so cheap, especially on the WWW.
Don't sell out and feed the trolls.

26lacefield 05-15-2007 11:49 AM

i'm thinking that within theh next five years tige will be a major player in wakeboarding. the quality of the boats are top notch. i have friends that own bu's, natique's, supra's, moomba's, and calibria's. they all love the wake on my RZ2. i run 2500 pounds in my boat adn its a big nice wake. all the other boats that i mentioned above run the same weight(more or less by maybe 200 pounds) they're all great wakes and my boat runs right there with them all. so i don't really see what some people complain about and i really don't see what Ryan is talking about. my boat is always full of hot @ss chicks lol

mkrueger313 05-15-2007 12:45 PM

The "major player in the wakeboarding industry" comment might be stretching it a little bit. The only thing Tige has going for them is Adam Errington and a rip off X-Star. None of these pictures make the Tige wakes look anything impressive by any stretch of the imagination.

For the record I've ridden behind 20v on multiple occasions and compared to a SAN, the Nautique blows the Tige out of the water. I'm not gonna go as far as Ryan above and insult you Tige owners thats not my intensions. But wake for wake SAN>TIGE...

timmyb 05-15-2007 1:54 PM

Same goes for the price SAN > Tige...oh nevermind...

nickypoo 05-15-2007 3:19 PM

Wow mike a 20V? I guess you know all about Tige, eh? Haha, you people kill me with your "humor".

Sorry Chris, I know I'm sellin' out on this one, but mike post was too funny to pass up. Kids these days.

(Message edited by Nickypoo on May 15, 2007)

26lacefield 05-15-2007 3:53 PM

mike you can't let the 20v do all the talking for the tige line up. have you had a chance to ride behind an RZ2, if not you really need to it'll give you a new point of view on the tiges and for being one of the top players i'm talking about in the top 3 or 4 last year they were #5 in overall sales for comp tow boats

lfshane132 05-15-2007 4:55 PM

I too prefer a 210 wake over the Tige wakes. But I like a more straight up pop wake rather than a rampy wake like the Tige's.

timmyb 05-15-2007 4:55 PM

Mastercraft wake sucks, I rode behind a Prostar 190 and it didn't even put out a wake..
heheheh

Jason, I have a Tige 24Ve so I am NOT bashing at all. Are you sure that is 2000 lbs?? What is your weight distribution in the ballasts??? That doesn't look right...... The pictures are not serving it justice???? Sorry, something just doesn't look right there....

26lacefield 05-15-2007 10:35 PM

yeah i'm agreeing with david that pic just doesn't look right. that looks like a 20v with no ballast and taps around 3.

ssteele013 05-16-2007 5:54 AM

where did ryan michael Kinsella go?.. or was what joe doe said too harsh for him so he had to leave?

dabell 05-16-2007 6:16 AM

Ryan L. I was thinking more like no ballast, 24 mph, with Taps on 1 or 3 like you said.... If he is right, which he probably is, there must be a lot of weight in the bow of the boat. Not the typical weight proportions....

(Message edited by dabell on May 16, 2007)

denverd1 05-16-2007 7:47 AM

just keep waiting. or will a purdue joke work?

dabell 05-16-2007 7:47 AM

No, we respect all boats. There is not one PERFECT wakeboard boat out there.

denverd1 05-16-2007 7:48 AM

There were 3 basketball players, one each from IU, Notre Dame, and Purdue, standing on a burning roof in Indianapolis. The fire department came with a blanket and yelled to the Notre Dame player to jump. He jumped and they moved it to the right. He hit the sidewalk with a splat. They then called to the IU player to jump. He said that he wouldn't jump. They said they liked IU better than Norte Dame. So he jumped and the fire department moved the blanket to the left. The IU player hit with a splat on the sidewalk. Then they called to the Purdue player to jump. He said that he wouldn't jump. The fire department said they hated IU and Notre Dame. He yelled back and said, "Lay the blanket down, and then I'll jump!"

there ya go.
