Hey all. Some quick questions on lights.

First, I've done a ton of looking on tower lights & have come to the conclusion that they are ridiculously too expensive (at least for my application). All I would like would be to have a couple that would face forward for docking/trailering at night (have no intention of boarding/skiing at night). I favor the Piaa automotive driving lights (the 001x is what I'm leaning toward), but am unclear on which ones are the "projector" type & how to mount them (I'd like to go straight to the tower with some sort of clamp - no mounting bar if I can get away with it). Anyone have experience with this & if so how did you go about it?

Second, has anyone added interior lights? I'm just talking about the type that would go up under the gunnels & add some accent lighting (I guess you could call it mood lighting ).

Thanks in advance for any info.

Um I definately have interior mood lights that run on 12v dc or ac. Our website isnt the best but their are some pics. Email me for info mikeg@orya nindustries.com
The starburst led lights can go in the babystar or any other light we make. We already light jetted tubs and bathtubs or even gazebos.
http://www.oryanindustries.com/html_docs/babystar.html

http://www.oryanindustries.com/html_docs/starburst.html

Turtle,
Thanks for the reply. I'd like to see a pic or 2 when it's done, plus an opinion on how well they work. (No pressure, this project is a little ways off - just trying to get all of the major costs lined up first).

Geforce,
Thanks, but not exactly what I was thinking of (no colors anyway). I had the idea from seeing the rope lighting that is used as accent lighting in homes. (I think some Malibus have what I'm thinking of.)

Tracie i have two sets of rope lighting about 12-15' each going from the engine compartment all the way up both sides of the boat and then under the dash's. These arent led lights but 12 volt rope lights i got from walmart for $8 a set, yes $8 a set X 2 = $16 and they have different colors too, mine are blue. They look cool as are bright but not overly bright

Bob,

That's exactly what I'm looking for. I didn't know that they made 12v rope lighting. What section did you find it in - auto section? (I hate to be in Walmart for very long!)
|
yes the auto section near the car audio stuff

Tracie, I have a brand new in the box X-treme 5 light bar that originally sold in overtons for $300.00. I am selling it for $250.00 plus shipping. It's a nice brushed alum.
Andrew
