Ok, how many of you have changed your job to ride more.

dakid 05-04-2005 2:27 PM

i'm sure a bunch of 18-21 year olds have, but the more "mature" people have figured out how to ride around their work schedule. <BR> <BR>my job allows me to come and go from the office as i please. of course, if i'm busy and have a lot of work, i can't leave. also, being promoted and given the title "general manager" keeps me from leaving.

I plan on moving up to the Delta to ride allot more. When I do move I will change my job. Does that count?

Work for a company that has active people. The president, VP, HR manager, sales manager, and myself have, at times, all taken 2-3 hour lunches to go ride. Usually not all together, but I always get to go because I am the only one with a boat.

I would do it in a heart beat!!!!!! Riding more is good.

kingjaycee 05-04-2005 3:28 PM

For me I plan it around my schedule. I'm 30yrs old now and it's impossible to be floating from job to job. Although the company i work for is cool enough to allow me to take time off when needed. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/smile.gif" border=0>

I work around my riding schedule whenever possible....My job lets me pick a shift schedule, then I burn my vacation and holiday time so I only work 3-4 days a week....

dmonnny123 05-04-2005 3:42 PM

i just got fired today.. so what the hell.. RIDE ON!

eternalshadow 05-04-2005 5:17 PM

I don't know about changing my line of work, but location and company to ride more in a heart beat. Maybe that's because my season is all of 4 months though?

socalwakepunk 05-04-2005 5:22 PM

Haven't changed jobs, sometimes works out, smetimes not. <BR> <BR>I did move, for the sole purpose of riding more. I was 30 minutes from a public lake, now 5 minutes from a private wakeboard area.

big_ed_x2 05-04-2005 5:28 PM

I'll even quit my job to ride more....wait a minute I did quit to ride more!!

westsidarider 05-04-2005 5:39 PM

i used to work at sears a few years back.one day i decided that wakeboarding was more important that day. fortuantely it was the last day i could miss before i was fired. 2 weeks later i was on the boat everyday, and bein paid for it.

On all my job applications I make sure to put "NO weekends"<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/biggrin.gif" border=0>

drewsky24 05-04-2005 6:36 PM

If i had a job i would.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lol.gif" border=0>

big_ed_x2 05-04-2005 8:03 PM

Clay ~ I got no weekends EVER and still not enough riding because the water in the weekends SUCKS!!

tparider 05-04-2005 10:36 PM

I didn't change jobs to ride more, but I did recently move to another state to have a house on the water, which equals riding more. <BR> <BR>(okay, that wasn't the main reason, just a pleasant side effect) <BR>

ripr 05-05-2005 5:45 AM

I moved to ride more and I've declined job opportunities because they would involve me riding less. <BR> <BR>Other than that, I've been at the same job for 7 years. <BR> <BR>Might as well ride while I'm able to.

pierce_bronkite 05-05-2005 7:03 AM

Being that I live and work 2 miles from the lake it is easy for me to ride after work and before work. <BR> <BR>My work environment is really laid back and as long as my work is getting done I can work it in my schedule. <BR> <BR>I also have to pass three seperate sections of the lake every morning and sometimes it sucks to see butter that I cant always ride. <BR> <BR>(Message edited by Pierce Bronkite on May 05, 2005)

No, but last night I stayed at a Holiday Inn. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/rofl.gif" border=0>

In high school, I got a job at a marina just to be able to ride. I really didn't need the money, but employees could always get a couple of hours at the end of the day on the rental boats. Now in college, I work at a golf course so I can play free golf. I guess next I should get a job at a brothel.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lol.gif" border=0>

I'm a teacher so lots and lots of time off to ride!
