I have a 2004 Calabria Pro V and the steering cable needs to be replaced. I know it is a teleflex cable but not sure which one. Does anyone know the model number for the cable I need and is this a do it yourself project?

Are you positive it's the cable that is sticking? There is also a bushing pack around the rudder shaft that can get sticky too. You can test this by disconnecting the rudder end of the cable &amp; see if the cable or rudder move freely. <BR>You will probably find a zert on the rudder shaft to grease it too.

call up a dealer, they know exactly what one you'll need.... we just did our boat and the nautique dealer knew what part it was

Rob - same issue in my boat turned out to be the bushing pack. When picking up a rider, the wheel would almost lock in place.

If it turns out to be a bushing pack how hard is that to fix.

Greasing the zert might do the trick. If not, you'll need to pull the rudder to replace the bushing which is quite a bit easier than replacing the cable.

there is a number on the side of the teleflex cable, that is the model number. you can look that up on the internet and find the best deal. I bought mine from boat fix it was the best deal for me. The other guys that posted could be right though, it might not be you cable.
