What is your opinion on the best time of year to buy a boat and the best time of year to sell a boat and maximize your profit. I know early spring is a hot buying time so does that make it a hot selling time as well. I know your geographic location is an obvious facotr but what are your thoughts?

I would say spring right after the first really hot day is the best to sell. The end of summer, fall and winter is pretty bad as well. That is is in the northwest though. I have also noiced that boats are worth 10% or so more up here then down in socal and probably more than that then in florida(southeast).

Buying, Jan, Feb, March, as most people have been trying to sell for awhile and are getting desperate.

Selling April, May, June, July, August even, because it is warming up, or hot, and people want to be out on the water having a good time.

Sell=between Memorial Day and 4th of July. Buy= October-December.

For a new ski boat, when the season is dead, the salesman are starving, ya know, if we dont sell, we dont eat, wherever your at, they'll be hungry from Sept-Dec. Boat shows offer great deals, but every few months, manufacturers raise their prices, boats are not getting cheaper. Fall is the best time.
