Hi everybody. I'm pondering a new set of bindings for this summer. My current bindings are some older Hyperlite Powerboots, and they're XL. My shoe size is somewhere between 10 and 11 (anywhere in between, depending on the kinda shoe I'm trying on). I'm looking at either used bindings or new ones leftover from previous years, which means limited size options very often. I'm looking at a lace-up binding this time around, so can I go with a "standard" size binding (up to size 11.5 they say) and have an easier time getting into them than say a step-in style binding like my current powerboots?

Thanks

lace up binding are pretty much where its at right now. good call on the used stuff. if you like how the power boots felt i'd stick with hyperlite, maybe a pair of parks or eras. both lace and both a nice feeling binding. best thing to do just go to a shop and try some on, its all personal preference.....

Large will be a good size for you... I wear size 10-11 also, depending on the shoe, and I rode the large 06 Murrays (with toecaps), my toes just barely touched the end.

Tommy, I see you live in Manitoba.. do you go to Throwdown in Portage? If not you should check it out, its a wild party and awesome competition.

Nah, I usually don't wander far off my lake, and I'm just a rec. rider anyways.

I do like my powerboots for comfort and fit, but I've had problems popping out of them, one of the reasons I'm asking about sizing. Kinda wondering if I'd gone with a standard binding and opened it up larger rather than a cinched-down XL if I'd stay in a little tighter. But either way, a lace-up will go a lot further to cut down the problem.

HL Powerboots, sweet old school!!
Bindings do fit differantly. You know how in some shoes you're one size and in other shoes you're another, same applies. But large would be a good start for you're foot size.
Any bindings are going to feel really differant than your old ones, but trust me you'll love the new stuff compared to the power boots.
Have a search around the online shops they usually do some good closeout stuff from last year.
