Think about how many people will be going out with you, towing, and storage. I live on the water and wanted to keep it in my garage so a smaller boat was better for me. My friend has a 230 and it has a great wake for boarding and also a killer surf wake. I really liked the 210 wake also. Good luck with your choice, you will be happy either way.

Benjamin, I have owned both. I currently have a 210, I personally think the 230 has more vert but it could be the way I weighted it. Weight placement has a lot to do with the wake. However I do not think either of these boats are going to be like the "old 210 style". Hope this helps.

I am on my second post 2007 210. I love the wake on my 210 but the 230 wake is great too. Placing the right amount of weight in the right spot on both boats will get you a great wake. Neither will be the same vert wake as the old 210 because these new hulls are wider.

That said, I would go with the 230 if the extra cost isn't a problem and if have more than 4-5 people on the boat on a regular basis. The extra room it provides is worth it IMO. Another huge cost factor is the 343 motor is fine on the 210 but you will want the ZR6 on the 230. I would have gotten a 230 if my budget would have allowed.

(Message edited by aarond0083 on February 26, 2009)

230 the wake is more vert with added ballast and the surf wave is very impressive, tons of room, storage ECT.
IMO the 230 is the best inboard boat on the water.
|
pending where you are there is a Super cheap 230 at Fort fremont marine in Wisconsin.
|
230 if you can afford it!!
wakesurf, more interior room, more interior room for more ballast and also more interior room for extra extra ballast.
|
230 without hesitation!!! Great surf wake, port or starboard! Great wake weighted or not, especially in smooth water!
|
where are you from and where are you looking at 210 and 230 at
|
Heres a pic of my 210 wake if that helps with only about 1500lbs above the internal ballast. Pretty Big & gots vert

Wow that's a great looking wake Migs!!

230 without a doubt. While i dont have a ton of experience with either boat I have been around long enough that there are things you can do to change wake shape a ton. From my experience the 210 will have a wider wake with more of a lip to it and the 230 will be slightly narrower with less of a lip but with the right amount of weight in the right place you can get almost the same shape wake as the 210......

My opinion= 230. bigger boat, more room, more fun.

the 230 is the statement of fashion.

joe norton of skiers wharf extreme had a 230 at the overland park, ks, boat show about three weeks back that is the best boat i've ever seen.

it had a substantially black hull with a (light) lime green swish midsides, the roswell S-tower, the Z-5 cargo rack, and the new graphics on the carpet, tons of can speakers on the tower.

it was perched next to a 216v, byerly 210, an MC 35 or 45 (???) (also an MC center console), several tiges and whatever else yacht line he carries. in my vote, not even close, it was america's idol.

i wouldn't replace my 211 with a 210 but yeah ... a 230.

Ive ridden both. I personally would take the 210 cus I like the bucking pop that is similar to the old one (if you weight it right). However I rode a 230 slammed with extra weight and a ton of people, and you could charge it hard and was perfect. I thought stock weight left more to be desired than the 210 with stock. Both are sweet though
|
230 no question. if you put enough weight it is like a 210 on steroids. I have an older 210 and thought it was the best wake you could get. If you put about ballast + 2000lbs and some people in a 230 you will be sold.
Unreal.
|
buy my 02 210 !

Just kiddin! there's no way I'm selling that machine...old sante FTW
|
Jeremy's old 210 (ftw) The one in his profile pic has the best wake Ive ever been behind. It was just as big as an epic I rode behind.

I really didnt think the loaded 230 had near as much buck to it as the older 210 or the newer one with a ton of ballast. It was very predictable though and that made for really fun big air moves consistently! I think it depends on your riding style and how well your knees are holding up lol!

^^same boat as mine, see profile pic.:D
|
Benji, you can't go wrong with either, their Nautiques!.

When you think you'll make the purchase? I'll be coming home on March 26th for a couple of weeks. Hope we can get together to ride.

Aloha

I have a 236 which is exactly the same boat as the 230 when you buy the team edition. We went from the 00 210 and would not go back. After going from no room for anything to the amount of storage and features in the 23 it is no compairison. and the wake is unreal with about 1500 above stock
|
I´ve had 2 210, 210-07 210-08, and this year a 230 -09 I recomend the 230
|
Its very simple if you never ski go 230 its much roomy-er but all the wakes are large. the 210 doesn't have a comp ski wake but its very doable for skiing.
I would have gone with the 230 but I still have skiers in my crew. Ether way you win both are great boats.
