I have a 1989 ski nautique 2001. I have 4 ws pro80s running off a syn2. I used it all last summer and it worked perfect! I have a 1000A cranking battery and a 6mnth old optima d34 running off a Perko switch. <BR> <BR>I just bought 4 Polk db651s for the inboat speakers and would like to power them with a syn6 so I can also run a ws XS-12.. <BR> <BR>My boat has a 60amp alternator and I'm just wondering if I should be thinking about another battery or larger alternator with this set up!! <BR> <BR>Thanks

As a matter of safety, every boat IMO should have two batteries. It's cheap insurance. Me personally, on your setup I woudln't run a third unless you run the stero ALOt with the motor off. FYI...running a wet battery and an AGM ( Optima) thru the same switch is not recommended. <BR> <BR>Yes, I would upgrade to at least a 90/105 amp alt. If that 60 amp is original, it's not gonna last much longer with 2 decent size amps pulling on it. And to be honest, 60 amps seems high for a boat of that year...I would have guessed 35 amp. did you have it bench tested?

I barely ever run my boat with the engine off and the tunes on and if it is, it will only be real quiet just listening ton tunes on the dock. <BR> <BR>I am only going by what my manual says, saying 55 or 60amp alternator, can't quite remember cause it's in storage. I have never had it bench tested though and last summer was kinda the trial to see if my alt would crap out and it never did.. <BR> <BR>What's the issue running those 2 different batteries

I was also wondering if anyone has had good luck with the Frequency Remotes from Alpine? I was looking at the hardwired MC10 but this might be a better option instead of drilling holes into my boat

If I am thinking of the same remote, I know someone that has a RF remote. He absolutely loves his. It is a waterproof remote and he has it on a floating keychain. <BR> <BR>He will jump in the water with it and just float around the boat to change songs and the volume. <BR> <BR>I think he just had to learn how to swim with a beer in one hand and the remote in the other <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/happy.gif" border=0>
