In your opinions, what propeller works out best for a Sanger V210 ? (pitch , diameter , 4 blade ect. )

Thanks

ghostrider_2 07-10-2006 11:32 AM

3 blade ACME 525, amazing hole shot with loads of ballast..

sangerlover 07-10-2006 12:17 PM

Thanks, I have never had to change my prop before. Any special tools required for removal or install ?

bigrich 07-10-2006 12:45 PM

I just changed my stock prop 13x12 3 blade after I bent it to a 13x11.5 3 blade. Better hole shot because I plan on adding more ballast later but I lost about 5mph top end. Any way you will need a prop puller and I just bought one to change mine. If you need to borrow or want me to change it for you let me know. Saw you are from the bay area so am I. By the way 06 V215

Where did buy the puller at ? I see them online for approx. $ 70.00. I think I need to start carrying a extra prop and puller . My stock prop is a Acme 4 blade.

bigrich 07-10-2006 1:53 PM

I bought the whole kit (puller, nut, wrench, cotter pin, case) for about $130.00 at wakeside. Figured I'd just get it out of the way.

I just called Acme about a new prop for my 05 V210. I currently have a 515 but I can't get the RPM's up with all the ballast and people. They told me to go with a 911 which is 13x10.5. Has anyone tried the 911 prop?

cal565 07-10-2006 4:01 PM

I have the 911 on my boat. It is great!!! I run close to 3000 pounds of ballast in my boat at times and it's gets the boat out of the hole just fine. Without any weight in the boat it's amazing how quick the hole shot is. I also use a lot less gas now while running ballast. With gas prices as high as they are is a huge plus for me.

wake_upppp 07-10-2006 7:45 PM

JTW, the most important question is how much total weight with ballast and people do you usually run with? If you run a little on the lighter side, say 1000 to 1500 then the 525 or 653 will do fine. If you run say 2000 or more then the 911.

sangerlover 07-10-2006 7:49 PM

It would be the 525 I suppose. I thought a 4 blade was superior to a 3 blade ? Learn something new everyday .

wake_upppp 07-10-2006 7:58 PM

I did too. I guess with the new designs the 3 and 4 blades are real close according to ACME. Don't forget a little anti-seige on the shaft and prop before install to ease removal later.

I'm not sure what the pitch on My four blade is but it hold speed so well I don't think I'm going to bother buying PP.

ralph 07-10-2006 9:51 PM

Last time I spoke to Acme they recommend 3 blade props for 1:1 tranny's & 4 blades for gear reduction.

malibu 07-11-2006 6:11 AM

Jeremy it sounds like I need the 911. Did you get yours direct from Acme? We need one right away since our vacation starts soon.

www.schnitzskis.com is the best price on Acme props I've found so far. This is who I bought my PerfectPass from also. Even though the boat holds speed well with the three blade, and I'm ordering a second, different pitch three blade, the PP is so nice. No matter who's driving it's the same consistant pull and it allows the driver to keep more attention on other things, great for less experienced driver's. And no speeding up and slowing back down manualy for D-UP's since the PP drives flawless D-UP's. I always said we could do without it but now that we have it we're spoiled.

(Message edited by wake_upppp on July 12, 2006)

Sparky,

What other three blade are you purchasing?

wake_upppp 07-12-2006 8:28 PM

Either the Acme 525 or 653, both very similar. Both are 13x11.5, the 525 has .080 cup, while the 635 has .060 cup.

redv215 07-12-2006 10:25 PM

I called Acme about having extra weight in our V215. Talked about a better hole shot and they told me to go witht the 653.

cal565 07-14-2006 2:55 PM

Sue I bought mine from boarditup.com Karl is a memeber on this site and he is very helpful. He also has the best prices around.

wake_upppp 07-14-2006 6:25 PM

Jeremy, that is a good price! Twenty five less than schnitzskis.com

malibu 07-17-2006 5:17 PM

Thanks Jeremy! I will check boarditup.com out.
