got one yesterday and it is sick. its like riding on a picnic table with a lot of pop. it rides similar to Krown King

redv215 05-19-2005 5:58 PM

I got one last week. All I can say is "WOW". Love that pop and the super soft landings.

malibuboarder75 05-19-2005 7:58 PM

What sizes are you all running? I weigh 175 and was thinking about getting one. I really don't like boards longer then 141 because they feel like im riding a plank of wood, so I have been riding a 138 Ricky G. Do you think I could handle the 135?

redv215 05-19-2005 10:20 PM

I am 200lbs and was riding a 141 CWB Pure. I got the 140cm Marius. You might be able to get away with the smaller board at your size but I think most would say to go with the 140cm. I would try them both and get the one you like.

wickedwake 05-20-2005 6:53 AM

Dallas Friday rides a 137...Shane Bonifay Rides a 137....Shawn Watson rides a 142 as does AA. Add them all together and they might weigh 175 combined<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/wink.gif" border=0> My point, Why would you want a smaller board? The pro's all ride boards that are "too big compared to their body weight" Im 5'10 175 and ride a 142 Transcend, moving from 138 to 142 was one of the best moves I have made yet.

jarrod 05-20-2005 7:17 AM

Leo: The Marius 140 rides like a small board. It seriously feels like a smaller board.

bill 05-21-2005 6:19 PM

i havent ridden it but i saw it at my local shop and its the strangest looking board ive seen in a while. Its looks like its a complete rectangle almost no slope from middle too end like a piece of plywood...weird for sure and the botton has more ridges and channels ..Definitly not copy of anything ive seen.. <BR> <BR>so hows the speed and tracking ,is it loose or sticky??Hows the edges like does it get real abrupt on faceplants and stuff or is it forgiving.. <BR> <BR>spill the beans

malibususpect 05-21-2005 7:53 PM

bill- ive been wondering the same thing, how does it pop compaired to the 04 absolute, how does it track, landings etc.

malibuboarder75 05-21-2005 10:03 PM

J-Rod, sounds good. That might be my next board. Although it might be pointless for me to buy a new board going to college and never wakeboarding again. Not to mention I just blew the transmission on my boat...i think.

gherk 05-24-2005 12:02 AM

Does anyone know where I can find of these near Modesto CA or the surrounding areas? None of the local shops that I know of have it.

tripleup 05-24-2005 6:31 AM

I can ship you one, <a href="http://www.deepsouthextreme.com" target="_blank">www.deepsouthextreme.com</a>

kawaik 05-24-2005 6:53 AM

is this a good primary board or is it like the fish where you wanna have a board that you can ride when this one doesn't work?

jarrod 05-24-2005 7:28 AM

Great primary board. If you start riding it I doubt you'll want to ride anything else.

malibuboarder75 05-24-2005 7:47 AM

Is this your new board J-rod?

jarrod 05-24-2005 8:06 AM

I haven't bought one yet. My local dealer has them coming. Soon enough. But yes.

twakess 05-24-2005 9:06 AM

J-rod would a Squid want a 134 or a 139.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/blush.gif" border=0>

erik_c 05-24-2005 10:16 AM

J-rod its Erik from ski world fedex just droped um off and it looks sick

gherk 05-24-2005 10:23 AM

Erik hook a squid up

erik_c 05-24-2005 10:43 AM

Squid is hooked

gherk 05-24-2005 10:51 AM

Great! Now I get sloppy seconds.

erik_c 05-24-2005 11:04 AM

<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lol.gif" border=0> Better than none at all swing by well set you up

twakess 05-24-2005 11:11 AM

ha they call me wakeboard whore but they reap the rewards of riding the boards I get.

forwaken 05-24-2005 2:59 PM

I wish squid, I would love to reap the rewards, but I'm too fat <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/angry.gif" border=0>

larry6 05-24-2005 3:16 PM

I have been riding this board for a few weeks now you guys will Def dig this board. Landings are extremely smooth which is good for a bum knee like me. The pop is great and the edging is even better the more I ride it. Just have to demo it for yourself to see if it’s for you or not. It looks like a monster at first site but after you take her for a run you see it rides light with plenty of kick. I do ride a CWB platinum as well and it doesn’t kill the wake like this one does when you accidentally kase it…<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/crazy.gif" border=0>.. that is this boards best attribute if you ask me very forgiving coming down. <BR> <BR>Leo I also agree with what J-rod said go with the 140 it doesnt even feel that big once your on it. <BR>Good luck.. <BR>

three6ty 05-24-2005 3:50 PM

I demoed this board last week and got 2 full days on it. I have to say the board is nice. It has great pop, Its Quick on the water and feels light on the feet. It does take some getting used to when you look down at it <BR> ( looks Huge ). I had a mishap with the 140 I was riding though. I was the first person to ride on it and demo it so keep that in mind when reading this. <BR> It may have been an isolated incident but when I was falling on a simple wake to wake jump I caught the heelside edge going in the water and I felt my foot come off the board. I thought " Oh my foot must have came out of the boot".. NOPE!! The binding was still on my foot but it was not attached to the Board. So happens I pulled the the binding inserts(screws still attached ) right out of the board. I also noticed that all of the binding inserts had a little rust around were they met the board. Seems a little odd. I have to say it was a demo board and those are usually factory seconds but still was a little concerned about what happened. <BR> <BR>I am not here to say anything bad per say because I really liked the board and how it rode, but I would like to know if anybody else has experienced this. <BR>Late

kawaik 05-24-2005 4:49 PM

so do the people who have ridden this prefer it over the transcend or platinum?

mhsb1029 05-24-2005 4:50 PM

If you guys dont mind me asking what did you all pay for your Marius'. I kind of feel like my local dealer is screwing me over and I just wanted to check. <BR> <BR>(Message edited by mhsb1029 on May 24, 2005)

three6ty 05-24-2005 4:53 PM

MY dealer has it for $389 + tax <BR> <BR>Gotriver.com

larry6 05-24-2005 9:34 PM

E Doub.. was yours rusty under the binding?? I just shot these images of mine and dont have any at all... only been in the water about 4 times now though...??? I will keep an eye on it. Raging I prefer the marius over the platinum do to the fact I have had about 9 knee surgeries and this board lands sooooo smooth its insane. I do still ride my platinum though. Sorry never ridden the transcend so I cant comment. <BR>L8tr... <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/230678.jpg" alt="binding 1"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/230679.jpg" alt="binding 2">

kawaik 05-24-2005 9:47 PM

is it a subtle or abrupt pop and does it buck you when you hit the wake?

larry6 05-24-2005 9:54 PM

For the most part I consider it a subtle pop the transition up the wake and off of it is reel smooth. It will give you all the pop you need for going upside down as well. <BR>Hope this helps... Good luck. <BR>

three6ty 05-24-2005 9:58 PM

Larry, <BR>Looks like yours is fine. <BR> <BR>I was thinking that maybe since it was a demo board they used cheaped inserts, but who knows. <BR>Have fun with it. <BR> <BR>Raging, <BR>It is more of a consistant pop. No surprises. <BR> <BR>Very easy board to ride and very forgivable as well <BR>

jarrod 05-24-2005 10:55 PM

I would agre that the pop is pretty subtle too. Big, but smooth and forgiving. <BR> <BR>I like the Marius a little better than the Transcend because it's faster. Super slow boards aren't for me although I still had a lot of fun on the Transcend. I can't say I prefer the Marius over the Absolute Platinum yet, but I may after a few more rides. I liked it enough to ride them both. <BR> <BR>Mark. Give Skiworld a try to. I happen to know that Squid didn't pay full list price for his. Try Brian or Erik 510.881.5881. <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>(Message edited by jarrod on May 24, 2005) <BR> <BR>(Message edited by jarrod on May 24, 2005)

mhsb1029 05-25-2005 8:24 AM

Thanks J-Rod, I am going to give them a call right now and see what they can do.

twakess 05-25-2005 9:01 AM

J-rod mine was going to be the demo so I think they took some off because of that also what is your new (e-mail J-rod)

jarrod 05-25-2005 8:05 PM

<a href="mailto:jarrodehlers@comcast.net">jarrodehler s@comcast.net</a>

twakess 05-26-2005 10:24 AM

Ok, took her for a spin. The board has a smooth big pop. Landings are super smooth. Now here is the strange thing. The cut is like no other board I have ridden. It seems to be a med speed board but when you add pressure to your back foot or weight it speeds up. To me it seems the more I ride this board the more I am going to love it. CWB has by far out done themselfs with this board.

big_ed_x2 05-26-2005 10:48 AM

rode it finless yesterday and can't say I like it that way.WAAAYYYY to loose!

larry6 05-26-2005 11:05 AM

Squid... funny I was going to say the same thing yesterday.. the more pressure you put on the bak foot the harder it cuts feels wierd when you first start out on it but sure to please most...<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/biggrin.gif" border=0>

mhsb1029 05-26-2005 2:06 PM

Is there anyone out there who does not like the ride of the board? <BR> <BR>I think that I am going to pull the trigger on one, if I dont like it then my dealer will swap me out for the absolute and I figure that 1 of those boards is going to fit my style (coming from an 04 parks and 03 lf team) <BR> <BR>Thanks for all of the info. <BR> <BR>Mark

magellan 05-26-2005 6:24 PM

You guys are killing me. How am I going to get my wife to say OK when my transcend is not even sun faded yet. I'll have to demo it first as I'm an advocate of the demo. <BR>Anyone know what So-Cal shops have sac'd up and have it available for demo?

tripleup 05-26-2005 6:41 PM

<BR>Heres Zach riding the Marius last weekend. <BR><a href="http://www.wakepics.com/view_single.php?medid=14987%20" target="_blank">http://www.wakepics.com/view_single.php?medid=14987 </a>

three6ty 05-26-2005 7:20 PM

Magellan, <BR> <BR>Southern Calif Watersports in Murrieta (gotriver.com) has them for demo. Unfortunately I broke the 140 last week, but they do have the 134 available

redv215 05-26-2005 7:31 PM

I got my Marius through "Waterski World" in Sacramento (Citrus Heights). Got a great deal. I can't rave enough about this board. I love it and my knees love it also.

mhsb1029 05-26-2005 8:38 PM

Yea, my wife isnt that happy about me getting a new board since I got one last year. I told her that this time I will keep the same board for 2 years. It looks like my local dealer is now going to give it to me for $400 which seems to be the going rate for this board. Thanks again for all the input guys. <BR> <BR>Mark

drewsky24 05-27-2005 7:14 PM

Who thinks i should get a Marius over a Subjekt?

mhsb1029 05-27-2005 11:00 PM

Just picked up my 140 Marius today, can't wait to get out and try it this weekend. I will be sure to let you guys know what I think of it.

jabilitation 05-28-2005 12:03 AM

Alex what song was that in the video of dude ridin the Marius?

tripleup 05-28-2005 12:29 AM

band: "El Pus" song: yo thing

trojanman 05-28-2005 10:52 AM

hey guys...just picked up a Marius for 350 total.. and i could probably grab a couple more and spread the love... send me a message if anyone wants one..

twakess 05-28-2005 11:12 PM

Well rode her again today. The board just gets better and better. I was wondering if any of you think that the board uses a shorter cut to the wake. It seems that I don't need to go out as far to to cut in as other boards.

trojanman 05-29-2005 12:53 AM

yeah Squid.. i noticed that if i just let the boat pull me into the wake real gradual like, i could still get the same kind of explosive pop similar to some of the other boards out there.. I had the pleasure of watching Trevor ride this board, and he looks like hes just cruising into the wake, very little cutting, and not hard at all, but man does he pop off that wake..

magellan 05-29-2005 12:43 PM

Where'd you get it Josh?

gmarkham1 05-29-2005 1:21 PM

Ok... I hadnt even heard of this board until I saw this thread. I am glad I read this because I just had ACL replacement and meniscus repair 8 weeks ago, I currently ride an 03 absolute, is this board really all that better then the absolute? I hadnt planned on upgrading quite yet, but if the landings are really that much softer I think I am going to... Keep all this great info rolling in, I am definately going to look to demo one as soon as I can ride again!

tonis 05-30-2005 9:09 PM

I was absolutely amazed at the landings. I don't really like big boards, but this one has definitely changed my perspectives.

tommyc 05-30-2005 9:34 PM

Gordan... my son, Derek Conway rides for the national CWB team. He just started riding the Marius and totally loves it. He is riding in the Pro Tour Jr. Mens Division, which is very competitive, and he is doing it without an ACL. The Marius is helping him out a bunch. The board lands very soft, in the flats...unlike anything else he has riden. Plus, it pops and is very quick. It is truely a break-thru design. Try it. Everybody that has riden, that I Know, it loves it.

stephan 05-31-2005 1:09 AM

You can also get them from Watersports Warehouse in Fullerton. Give Chad a call &amp; he will set you up in a heartbeat.

jon4pres 06-06-2005 3:34 PM

How Much???

gmarkham1 06-06-2005 7:26 PM

Tom, <BR>how long ago was your sons injury? Is he wearing any kind of brace or anything? I contemplated not getting the surgery and trying without, but figured in the long run I was better off getting it done! Thanks for the info

wkbdtime 06-06-2005 7:47 PM

Rivers End Marina near tracy ca. has 2 marius boards for demo and sale. Test Rode the marius, I have to say if performs differently then others. It takes a few pulls to get use to the ride and pop, after get prepared for a killer ride. <BR> <BR>

the_friend 06-06-2005 8:45 PM

My friend Tony Carroll is sponsored by CWB and i got to ride his Marius and i have to say it is one of the sickest boards ever it has insane pop and rolls over so fast.

tommyc 06-06-2005 8:48 PM

Gordan... Derek has tried to natually to rehad the knee. We even got him a trainer. He has been wearing a brace since November and has continually injured the knee(5 times). Last weekend in Reno he messed it up again in his second pass. This time it went out coming off the wake. He is done for the year and we are scheduling surgery. We probably should have done it sooner. But the natural way seemed so much better at the time. But now he is wasteing a year of riding.

socalwakepunk 06-06-2005 9:04 PM

Really sorry to hear that, Tom. Our best wishes to Derek for a strong recovery.

wkbdtime 06-07-2005 12:20 PM

TConway: <BR> <BR>Whos doing the surgery? Recommend Dr. Leslie Anderson (San Francisco). The Insurance companies dont fight her shes that good. 2 Years ago I cut my ACL in half. 6 Months of Rehab...3 times a week, plus 2 days of pool therapy...My knee is better then what the factor gave me...Oh and a year of slowly working the wake again. <BR>

jarrod 06-07-2005 9:26 PM

Anyone try the Marius finless? I think it rides even better. Little faster, tad looser.

socalwakepunk 06-07-2005 9:36 PM

Trevor rodes finless in back, small fin in front (switch).

big_ed_x2 06-07-2005 9:37 PM

tad looser??? <BR> <BR> <BR>Definete understatement!!! <BR> <BR>More like loose as a 2 dollar whore!lol<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lol.gif" border=0>

wickedwake 06-07-2005 9:41 PM

<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/rofl.gif" border=0>^^^^FUNNY!!!

3ztt 06-08-2005 2:44 AM

You can get this board loose just fine w/the factory fins. I wouldn't be interested in riding it finless...

jarrod 06-08-2005 7:04 AM

I thought it rode a little too tight with the fins. Perfect without. <BR> <BR>I also think it handles the chop pretty well.

airwarrior04 06-09-2005 4:13 PM

Im 165 lbs what size should i get i heard the board is huge is the 134 too small and is the 140 to big? <BR> <BR>Thanks <BR>Zach

jarrod 06-09-2005 4:15 PM

This board rides like a smaller board. My friend Billy normally rides a 135 and he was diggin the 140.

airwarrior04 06-09-2005 4:18 PM

Ok i think a 140 will do great

twakess 06-09-2005 4:20 PM

Zack I got the 134 and I think its almost to small cause sometimes I get a bucking landing and the board stops or it just could be that it I am going a little bigger. I know that it likes wake to wake better than the flats. But it could just be me. <BR>

airwarrior04 06-09-2005 4:21 PM

Well if i feel the 140 too big ill email you if you want the 140 we can trade or sumthing.

big_ed_x2 06-09-2005 4:37 PM

Squid ~ Don't ALL boards like W2W better then flats??? <BR> <BR>I know my Byerly and my new Substance like W2W better.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lol.gif" border=0>

twakess 06-09-2005 5:13 PM

Ed i guess your right maybe if I am landing in the flats the would mean let the rope out some<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/uhoh.gif" border=0>

jarrod 06-09-2005 5:17 PM

Squid. You made me try new tricks!. So I'm going to make you ride with my rope Saturday! <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/proud.gif" border=0>

big_ed_x2 06-09-2005 5:19 PM

Don't you do like S-Bends and stuff and only ride at 65'?Let it out I'll say at least 15',you are good enough!

twakess 06-09-2005 6:11 PM

J-rod thats a lot of rope<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/uhoh.gif" border=0> Ed for some reason I have trouble with spins when I get out longer. The inverts are ok out that far just something to do with the spins but I am letting it out a little further. Oh ya J-rod I landed a new trick yesterday I got HS OA 180's now. Now I need to work on grabbing them so you can get on my ass about that.

jarrod 06-09-2005 7:05 PM

OA 180? That sounds stylish. Can you teach me that? <BR> <BR>No need to explain. Your riding speaks for itself. <BR>

twakess 06-09-2005 8:05 PM

J-rod yep I can help ya on it. Its a very strange trick you would think that you need a big cut but you don't need that at all. Oh ya damn krown king came in the mail today<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/uhoh.gif" border=0> what would a whore do (like evan said so many boards and so little time)

bwood 06-17-2005 5:02 PM

Any updates on this board. Do we like it or not?

more_betterness 06-17-2005 6:03 PM

I have ridden both the 140 and 134. I love the way they ride great pop and soft landings. It also rides a little higher on the water so it release quick of the wake. Don't take my word if you have a chance to try one take the opportuninty.

waterdog2 06-17-2005 7:50 PM

More betterness. When is the next ride clinic at SCWS

more_betterness 06-18-2005 11:12 AM
