I need all of the information i can get any little bit will help. I found a 2003 Mastercraft Prostar 205V up for sale in a auction. From what i can tell in the picture it has tower speakers, lights, and i know it has perfect pass. The crazy thing is i called the auction company and they said the boat has zero hours. They said the boat is being repossesed from a guy who impezelled 78 million. dollars. They said he bought it and let it sit in a barn. <BR> <BR>If anyone knows what the boat is worth it would be very helpful. Charlie, <BR>Get the hull ID number, then call mastercraft and they will give you the dealer that sold it and then you can call the dealer and ask if any work has been done on it . Insurance work, maintenance, warranty work and so on. You can find out the history of most auction boats by doing this. I used this process to check out 3 different boats that were up at auction. I 1 case it was a clean boat that was just repoed because the owner failed on payment, the other two were insurance totals and were fixed and sold at auction. <BR> <BR>Looks like a sweet boat though!!!!

yep, the guy lived here and the auction is in a few weeks. Don't all boats come with a few hours from factory on-water testing before it is sold? Wouldn't it be impossible to actually get a boat with "true zero" hours? <BR> <BR>Does look like a way sweet boat, and worth pursuing

The way I understand it the hour meter can be reset to zero once. I dont think anyone would want a boat that hasn't been run in or out of the water at least briefly.

I wonder if the "fontain" 42 foot boat is the same as a Fountain boat? Mispelled and misprinted all thru the auction. Oh,, and that dude had some serious toys!!!

The boat pictured has a 2002 X-Star sticker on the hull. It's identical to mine. Am I missing something here?

I thought MC used X-Series on the X-Stars during the transition to X2. I'm not sure, but I remember first seeing those decals around the time the next gen X-Star came out.

Actually, I believe that the 205V was created for the wakeboard market, in order to put the weight in the rear. In the process, the 205V (non wakeboard package) was marketed as a family friendly package. <BR> <BR>As a ski boat, the 205v didn't produce the flat, table-top wakes known in the PS190 or PS205. <BR> <BR>The X-Star was (205V) was then outfitted with various ballast options, and towers, etc, with the price cranked up accordingly. <BR> <BR>Could be more detail to this, but this is the simple explanations I received when buying it. <BR> <BR>Dave

Nick is right about the name. In 2003 when these boats first came out they were called x series for a short run until the X2 name was finalized.

I went to an auction last summer and they auctioned off an 04 Bu Wakestter that looked to be in pretty good condition it went for 32500...I was blown away had 83 hours on it. Was pretty much loaded.

Today was the auction...does anyone know what the X-star went for. <BR> <BR>Someone might have got a great deal on it.

I heard it went over $40k! Also heard that most everything else was bringing close to retail too.

i went to the auction....its was rediculous....sooo much stuff, no good bargins everything went very close to retail (IF NOT MORE!!)...the boat went for $45k!! can u believe that...$7-8k over NADA HIGH RETAIL!! we started the bidding off at $30k...then it just went INSANE and we did not bid again! they also had two 42ft fountain boats that went for $215k and $170k....they helicopter went for like $455k and planes going anywhere from $95k to $150k

oh btw the boat had 17.9 hrs on it and a pretty sweet stereo, but nothing near worth the $45k!

A few years ago I got pretty close to buying an airplane. $95k to $150k is nothing when it comes to aircrafts. That kind of money will buy you a nice little 30 year old 4 seater with descent instruments that cruises about 200-230mph..
