How would you go about mixing an audio soundtrack for a movie? I want to have part of one song play but not the whole thing. How would I mix another song into it smoothly?

If you have adobe premiere, you can cross fade the music in the audio timeline. <BR> <BR>If you need the ability to match beats check out: <a href="http://www.mixmeister.com/mmexp5.htm" target="_blank">http://www.mixmeister.com/mmexp5.htm</a> <BR> <BR> <BR>Here are some higher end audio mixing solutions <BR><a href="http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/main.html" target="_blank">http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/main.html</a> <BR> <BR><a href="http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/Products/ShowProduct.asp?PID=668" target="_blank">http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/Products/ShowProduct.asp?PID=668</a> <BR>

I use Digidesign ProTOOLS. Like Kung Fu said you simply want to mix music in Premier is all you need. If you want to chop songs up or add cool effects I like ProTools but there is a limmitless amount of digital editing software out there. If you are a student you can get the MBox(digidesigns hardware) and the program for about 400 bucks and the Mbox has middi, RCA, and XLR inputs for recording purposes. <a href="http://www.digidesign.com" target="_blank">http://www.digidesign.com</a>

I just got Acid pro 4.0 and so far it seems like a great program. Does anyone use this and if so do you know how to make seperate tracks? I would like to find a tutorial. I've looked for one a little bit and haven't had any luck finding one that doesn't cost anything. I don't mean to hijack the thread but it's a month old anyway.
