ncsuuh 08-05-2008 5:34 PM

Look like air force 1's.

lfxstar 08-05-2008 6:17 PM

Watlas's?

nautiquerider27 08-05-2008 6:20 PM

those shanes are really ugly. why would you make something like that?

jheado 08-05-2008 6:20 PM

<a href="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/1/609700.html?1217985612" target="_blank">http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/1/609700.html?1217985612</a>

absoluteboarder 08-05-2008 6:38 PM

well well well......A flex board with bottom features........slingshot you better start movin!

duffmangt 08-05-2008 7:50 PM

god all that gear is ugly...light up bindings? LA gear style! damn those were cool when i was 5! <BR> <BR>sovens board is pretty cool, but his bindings look awful

jpod 08-05-2008 8:46 PM

LF might of been a year behind on this retro fad. hopefully all this ugly retro dies off soon!

mofreestyle 08-05-2008 8:52 PM

I wonder what newbies will think when they walk into a shop and see this stuff on the wall. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/uhoh.gif" border=0>

wakeslife 08-05-2008 9:14 PM

The light up binding concept is cheesy. Enough said.

jtnz 08-05-2008 9:17 PM

At least as cheesy as the diamantes on that Obrien board. But I guess some girls like that sort of useless shyte. I remember owning light up shoes, they were cool, for about 5 minutes, when I was 8.

ethan31 08-05-2008 9:18 PM

Lol, Light up bindings? WTF? <BR> <BR>Just another reason to wakeskate.

dakid 08-05-2008 9:22 PM

yeah...that's a good reason. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/uhoh.gif" border=0>

hawk7 08-05-2008 9:27 PM

I hate it when Wakeboarding emulates skateboarding or snowboarding, but it's going to happen, like it or not. I like my covin, black in gold will always be cool to me, but if I liked the way the shane rode, i'd rock it even if it looked like clown vomit.

ethan31 08-05-2008 9:27 PM

Or because I suck on a wakeboard. <BR>Blaming it on light ups sounds better to me. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lame.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>(Message edited by ethan31 on August 05, 2008)

bigjokerinthebox66 08-05-2008 9:35 PM

Is 09 the year of the clown shoes or what? They went with blacks and dark colors in 08 and now retro? BOLD

wakeboardmatt 08-05-2008 9:37 PM

Those shanes look sooooooooo sick!

wakeboardern1 08-05-2008 9:52 PM

I still stand by my statement that I think that those closed toe Watsons are SICK. Out of all the gear from all the companies, I seem to like the styling of Watson's stuff the most... Minus that goldish vomityish 142 he had for 07...

wesley_is_wake 08-06-2008 3:48 AM

Who cares what color the bindings are? I thought the ability of the rider mattered more than what his or her board or bindings looked like. And besides, you can't judge a book by it's cover can you?

liquid_force24 08-06-2008 4:24 AM

haha what i think you guys dont get is its the pro riders that choose the graphics! <BR> <BR>plus i really dont give a rats about graphics... i want something that rides well and feels good on my feet!... its like women and high heels

mike2001 08-06-2008 4:50 AM

All the more reason to keep rocking my 2005 jah era and 2006 all black fuse bindings. <BR> <BR>For as much as this stuff costs, I would give a rats about the graphics and care what color the bindings are.

kcrider 08-06-2008 5:18 AM

Have you seen the new press and Mike Ennen's new board. They look ALOT better then what is posted here. I got to see the 09 catalog. Not everything in 09 is quite as crazy as these. Plus the witness and ps3 comes with the grind base!!

adam_balon 08-06-2008 9:51 AM

wes... how can you say it doesnt matter what the stuff looks like? you are a consumer.... buy what you like not what they tell you to like.

behindtheboat 08-11-2008 8:55 AM

I don't know if this has been posted somewhere else: <BR> <BR><a href="http://www.alliancewake.com/article_details.php?id=4004" target="_blank">http://www.alliancewake.com/article_details.php?id=4004</a> <BR> <BR>but Collin has a Pro Model!? I read it in an interview but seeing it is great. Def the board I'm most interested in! They are keeping the PS3 and adding a new one? Consolidation is the theme of the times right now, surprised they will keep it.

stoked_32 08-11-2008 9:07 AM

didn't the same thing happen last year about this time with the '08 gear? ... from what I can remember.. the '08 gear looked pretty terrible in photos until people saw what it looked like in person...

wakemikey 08-11-2008 12:45 PM

LF bindings are the best I have ever tried. Can't believe they could make them 40% lighter dang! The baseplates are great. <BR> <BR>Man I HATE 80s colorings. <BR> <BR>Womens stuff please please please please PLEASE stop making hearts and flowers and pink crap everywhere. The girls deservce more hardcore and respectable products than that. The Melissa isn't too not bad though and they ride incredible.

hawk7 08-11-2008 3:37 PM

I'd Rock The Melissa before the shane for sure.

trippin132 08-11-2008 4:42 PM

some more photos for you guys.. .again all aussie dollars... <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613130.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613131.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613132.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613133.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613134.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/613135.jpg" alt="Upload">

skatehawk11 08-11-2008 4:59 PM

did they reshape the axis or the witness for 09?

trippin132 08-11-2008 5:07 PM

dont think so...

wakerider111 08-11-2008 6:02 PM

looks like there will not be a closed toe vantage?... a little surprised actually, especially with the number of people who have been crossing their fingers on it

garret_s 08-11-2008 6:22 PM

those shanes look redunkulous. Can't wait to see the board...

captain_vilfo 08-11-2008 6:23 PM

not gonna lie that lyman has to be one of the coolest graphics i have ever seen on a board

srh00z 08-11-2008 6:30 PM

The Lyman looks sweet. I was hoping Harrington's model would have some similarities to the Fish which he rode a pretty good bit a few years back. I guess we'll see when the real board comes out. I am glad he got his own board because that guy rips.

srh00z 08-11-2008 6:35 PM

I'm flipping through the new WBM as I catch up on wakeworld. I just noticed a pic on pg. 88 of Shane rocking his new setup. It makes a little more sense when put together, but with the colors, it would be hard to mix and match those bindings on a different board. It is a sweet pic though.

hawk7 08-11-2008 7:16 PM

Stephen, I've heard rumors of a fish shape for this year, for me, its gonna be ONE vs. Viva vs. [New Fish]. I really like the Axis Graphic, but the coolest graphic ever [IMO] has to be either Lyman's J-Star Graphic or The ['07] Covin.

srh00z 08-11-2008 7:22 PM

I rode the Faction this year and a Fish last year. I wanted to stay committed to one board this year and I love the Faction and I have said several times that I probably want replace it, but a new Fish could really make me think about that. I haven't had any sets on my Fish this year, but I am thinking I am going to take a set on it this coming weekend, it is such a great shape.

da_kamp 08-11-2008 11:17 PM

wow, that lyman design is dope, makes mine look like crap <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/sad.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR>the vantages look ugly now, and so do most of the other designs. <BR> <BR>and if you look at harringtons shape it looks very similar on the bottom to the lyman/axis but with a 5 fin setup ? I'm not suprised considering he rode the @#%$ out of the axis this year <BR> <BR>EDIT: WHOA AND LOOKING BACK ! the top of the lyman is different now ! that groove on near the edges extends all the way up now <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/new.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR>(Message edited by da_kamp on August 11, 2008)

georgi 08-12-2008 4:41 AM

I like the new Alpha and Watson... definitely one of those will be on my feet next year...

driving 08-12-2008 5:07 AM

I rode with Lyman the other day, and his board looks awesome in person as well. It has a really cool raised logo in the center, that they are potentially going to make stickers, belt buckles, etc. out of.

bendow 08-12-2008 5:28 AM

is the shane going to have the grind in all sizes? I assume if the PS3 does the shane would as well...

lives2wake 08-12-2008 8:08 AM

Love the PS3...sick graphix. <BR>The Harrinton graphics remind of the the old Rhythm series: <BR><a href="http://www.wakeworld.com/boardguide/getboard.asp?boardid=361" target="_blank">http://www.wakeworld.com/boardguide/getboard.asp?boardid=361</a> <BR> <BR>I'd like to see the Press graphics.

08-12-2008 9:48 AM

is the alpha a higher level boot this year?

brody 08-12-2008 11:37 AM

Those alphas look sick, and so is the lyman graphics... might have to get a new setup next year.

jackeh 08-12-2008 2:21 PM

when does this gear come out?

jpg 08-12-2008 5:46 PM

Lets see the new watson

wakeboardern1 08-12-2008 6:28 PM

Exactly jpg. That's what I've been waiting for... <BR> <BR>I actually like this year's Lyman graphics more than those...

srh00z 08-12-2008 6:37 PM

In another post, someone said that the Watson will only have new graphics initially and then they will release a new shape in April or May. Can anybody confirm this?

duffmangt 08-12-2008 8:31 PM

so are the alphas getting upgraded and the index's taking their place as the lower end bindings? also ive heard a couple of times theres going to be more velcro bindings! hope theyre not just rumors

srh00z 08-12-2008 8:41 PM

The Alphas and the Watsons are definitely nice looking boots. I wonder if the Transits are getting a re-design. I have worn those in the past and they are a great binding.

wakemitch 08-12-2008 8:44 PM

The velcro domain is the low end boot and then the alpha is the next step up. The aplha has one lace this year. The transit has been redesigned too. <BR> <BR>Every boot is different in some way.

georgi 08-13-2008 7:58 AM

One lace on the Alphas is a step down IMHO. But I think I could custom upgrade them to two-lace by myself.

lfxstar 08-13-2008 9:34 AM

Does anyone not else think the resemblance of the Watson's to the Atlas' is a little too close? The Atlas' dominated the closed toe binding market this year, just a thought to ponder where LF's are definitely not as popular as they were in 07.

luke_j 08-13-2008 1:45 PM

kyle, you obviously haven't been around OWC much this season. LF bindings are everywhere, especially watson's shane's and vantages. And their grind base boards were very popular. We sell probably 3 to 1 watsons over atlases at my shop

dakid 08-13-2008 1:51 PM

from what i understand, lf bindings are the top sellers for the past 2-3 years.

hawk7 08-13-2008 3:17 PM

"lf bindings are the top sellers for the past 2-3 years." <BR> <BR>where do you get info like that? I've hardly seen anyone riding the Atlas though.

Cant wait! <BR> <BR>Maybe at NWWF #6??

hawk7 08-13-2008 3:59 PM

I admitted To liking the ['07] Coda also. The ['07] Vice Still puts a question mark on my face though...

dakid 08-13-2008 4:07 PM

jakober, maybe! i really wanted to go this year. i wanted to film the event, riding and shenanigans and offer a dvd to those that would wanna buy one. i'd sell 'em cheap so people wouldn't think i was trying to get rich off 'em. maybe you and the nwhc can all pitch in to fly me up, pay for my food, lodging, drinks, pulls, etc. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lol.gif" border=0><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/rofl.gif" border=0>

wakerider111 08-14-2008 8:55 PM

"FLY" core ehh? Ronix, Hyp, and LF all battling for the lightest core... ya i know, it is no new battle really... <BR>and what does "FLY" stand for? (just guessing that it is an acronym, maybe i am wrong?)

closedtoe 08-15-2008 7:59 AM

Anyone know what sort of stiffness the Soven bindngs should be? obviously nobody has them yet, but does anyone know what bindings he wore before he got these.

08-15-2008 8:07 AM

is the riot harrington's shape with girl graphics?

srh00z 08-15-2008 1:32 PM

WakesetterLSV, in one of the 09 gear posts, somebody said that they velcro on the Soven's could be adjusted up and down to allow for more or less flex. Not sure if that is true and it's hard to tell from the picture.

romes 08-15-2008 1:48 PM

soven wore transits for a long time. then i'm pretty sure he was rockin the watson close toes for a bit..

wakemitch 08-15-2008 2:35 PM

wakesetterLSV, the Soven is rated as the stiffest boot in the line for 09.

nuckledragger 08-15-2008 5:40 PM

Looks like LF took a page out of Drew Brophy's book on the Trip board. <BR> <BR><u><a href="http://drewbrophy.com/" target="_blank">http://drewbrophy.com/</a></u> <a href="http://www.drewbrophy.com" target="_blank">www.drewbrophy.com</a>

chihuahua_chick 08-15-2008 7:20 PM

Not too keen on the girl graphics for Ambers board. . .

criswb 08-16-2008 1:58 AM

Those Jett graphics are UGLY! What is wrong with these people??? They just keep making it uglier! I'm glad I've kept my 07 <BR> <BR>And the riot seems to be the old melissa, which would be the same as the Trip. <BR> <BR>I just can't get over how ugly the jett graphics are for this year... blech!

romes 08-16-2008 7:43 AM

did shane just change his sizes or did he redo the board? i know he did away with the cupped fins...booo...but if he kept the same shape that would be SICK

trippin132 08-17-2008 9:21 PM

shane is a brand new mold...
