I have finally agreed (at my wife's urging) to leave the boat on a lift during the season. There is a slip and lift available, but it is a Lakeland 2 tank rated at 4600 lbs. Will this be sufficient for our VLX? Our dry weight is approximately 3900 lbs. I suspect we will be getting close to the limit with fuel and gear.

Thanks for any feedback.

From an engineering point of view, most of the lifts out there are under rated by as much as 25%just from a simple design standpoint. And it doesn't matter if its steel or aluminum.

Most of the lift manufacturers I have researched (still shopping)suggest adding 20% to your boats dry weight to select the correct size lift. This should account for fuel and gear, etc.

I have a 2008 23LSV on a 4500 lbs two tank Hydro Hoist - I am not sure it would go up with the ballast tanks full - but works fine with a full tank on gas. You should be good to go.

The Dry weight on a 2007 VLX should be 3600#.

Thanks Peter. My dealer confirmed the 3600 lbs for me. Makes it even better!
