closer to what?

perfection?
warm enough to ride in banana hammock?

70 degrees is excellent. I'd BEG for some 50 degree waters right now.

baitkiller 02-23-2010 2:23 PM

I know it's torture to you guys. But I have been in South Florida for 23 years. Back in San Diego where I grew up if the surf temp hit 70 I would be in it all day. But alas my blood groweth thinner with time. 75+ for this guy.

joeshmoe 02-23-2010 2:38 PM

well, i guess its good to see you florida guys "suffering" through the cold months

helinut 02-23-2010 4:34 PM

75+ ??? Holy crap! If that were the case around here, there wouldn't be a wakeboarding scene at all. We're lucky to hit that by the end of the season.

I did the polar bear ride this year for the first time. 36 degree air, 41 degree water. Really wasn't too bad with a dry suit. Until of course your first crash. Holy cow!

wakebrdjay 02-23-2010 6:23 PM

X2 Shawn,The ice cream brain freeze from the spray is nice too.

hawkeye7708 02-23-2010 8:32 PM

I'm plannin for my first run when I'm back home in Green Bay on the 13th of March. We'll have to push the ice out of the launch, but we'll get out there!!

dirwoody 02-23-2010 8:46 PM

I went Ice fishing today. Only about 18" on the old lake. Caught a few. I hate winter.

ktm525 02-24-2010 6:08 AM

We ride all year round. Come on it's California, It never to cold.

wake26 02-24-2010 6:38 AM

Darin
I feel your pain we went ice fishing this past weekend 2 feet of ice and another round of snow in the forcast for tomorrow. What lakes to you go to in nebraska we are thinking of going camping at lake minatare you ever been there.

dirwoody 02-24-2010 7:04 AM

Jarod
I'm in Eastern NE, so I'm not familiar with Lake Minatare. Checking out the map though, I'd say you're better off going to McConaughy. As long as you can get your boat in the water (levels were really low a couple years ago, but they're predicting 6 concrete ramps open this year) it can be really good. It's HUGE, but many days you have butter for miles - not a lot of boaters out there

If you're coming out, get ahold of me, I'd love to meet some more WW-ers

wake26 02-24-2010 7:43 AM

Darin
We used to go to McConauhy every year when I was younger. I think we were thinking of trying that lake Minatare in June it will be are first trip to that lake sounds like a nice lake its just outside of Scottsbluff.

dirwoody 02-24-2010 8:26 AM

Looks like it could be pretty good, I just know Big Mac has been miles and miles of glass for me before.

dlwsrider 02-24-2010 11:04 AM
