Does anyone have suggestion on lodging near Bullards Bar, we'd prefer to not camp the trip we're planning is not going to be long enough. Plus this will be our first time visiting....

ain't no lodging. Even if you did camp, it's a lot of hiking up an down the hill. I recommend a houseboat.

Awesome lake though. My favorite

J-ROd-- After giving it to Lucky in the other post ( after school ) .

You go say this - "ain't no lodging. Even if you did camp, it's a lot of hiking up an down the hill. I recommend a houseboat."

Douglas, the nearest lodging, as far as I know, is probably about 15 - 20 miles away. You can do a google search for Bullards bar and it will give you their website, I think they could help you locate a hotel closer if there is one.
Beautiful lake and great riding though, have fun.

Nevada City is your best bet, will put you about 20min away from the launch ramp...
|
20 mins maybe on a nice 1000cc road bike. NC is closer to 40mins along 49 if you're pulling

You could go North to Downeyville, about 30 min. They have lodging, restaraunts, bars, shops, and gas there. It's a neat little town. Try the pizza parlor by the bridge that goes over the river, it's the best!

15 minutes away is a Thousand Trails camp site. They rent big trailers and cabins. It's a membership only place, but they will let you stay one time to check it out. Nice place if you have kids. Oregon House. I stayed there 2 weeks ago and its only 15 minutes. (530) 692-1852

Hey Al. I think I saw you out there that week. Were were at the TT camping also. We ran into each other at the ramp a couple of times. You in your top of the line VLX shadowing over my little I/O Maxum. Good times. I'm in Cameron Park if you ever need a third around town.

That was a good week. If you want to go week day afternnons or early mornings, I'll get a hold of you.
I went to Folsom Wednesday afternoon and the water was pretty good and not too crowded.

We went again at 6AM Friday. A little cold till the sun rose over the mountain, but great water and no one else there.

Mornings are great. Get out early and then head to work a little late after a few runs.

By the way, thanks for the advice that morning about the ramp and all. It really helped.
