Hey guys,

I have a informative speech due this coming Thursday and I picked the topic of wakeboarding for it. i was wondering if yall could help me pick out sub topics that you think people that are not acquainted with the sport would enjoy listening to. Any input is welcome. Thanks. Oh, and I also need a <30 second video to play at the beginning, so if someone has a highlight vid of themselves shredding, I'd like permission to post it in my powerpoint.

In my opinion, here are 3 easy topics to split it into.
1. Boat riding.
2. Cable park riding.
3. Winch riding.

Sorry, I don't have any videos for you.

What about like the history and evolution.

What about equipment and accessories. You could explain things like the benefit of towers, ballast, and non-stretch rope.

Or different board design attributes, like 3-stage vs continuous rocker, different fin layouts, different bottom designs, different rail shapes and flex vs stiff boards.

I am trying to focus more on the basics. I like the idea of using history, but remember I am talking to people who know little to nothing about the sport so I have to relate the material to them, not so much on the different board designs. Any more ideas?

You should def show Randall Harris' Segment from Drive.

Definitly.

Jeff Mckee basically says it all at the beginning

Yea i would focus on evolution, past/present/future

Sport Evolution
Ski -> Trick Ski -> Wakeboard

Equipment Progression
ski boat -> wake specific boats, ballasts, towers -> cable systems

I did an informative speech my sophmore year of college. My speech followed along with my video. I taught the class how to do a 360, tantrum, and raley. It was a great topic because our teacher didn't have a clue as to what it was so she really couldn't grade me on content. And if your not big on public speaking, it is easy talking about something you enjoy.

There is the "Shaun Murry" thread going on right now about finding God and whats really important to him, check it out. But my input there is the same here. Its about riding, friends and having FUN..pass it on. Jet
