Hello

I have a problem... Today after my morning run I left my Byerly on the back of the boat bottom side down (so the graphics were down). I left it there all day in the heat and sun while it was wet and when I went out later I picked up the board and noticed the paint from the board had stained the upholstry. Could someone please tell me what would take it off.

metz213 06-03-2007 6:13 PM

I'll have a pic up here in a few mins

kkong72 06-03-2007 6:43 PM

jpshaff01 06-03-2007 6:49 PM

use the upload attachment function right next to preview/post message and make sure its small enough, less than 1000x1000 or something

Oooooh, yeah that sucks. I'm not sure what the most hardcore cleaner is you can put on vinyl but i think this may be the only good reason to use a magic eraser. Try that out. I had a small paint transfer from a bottle opener on my engine cover and the eraser got it off.

Sweet tat dude.

fchidsey0144 06-03-2007 9:03 PM

Try Bug off or goo gone BUT FIRST try it somne were it wont matter like the back side of the seat It may stain the material. I use this to take paint of molding that has wood finish and works well with out distroying the wood finish.

good luck

thats crazy. i second goo gone. ive used a mix of water and vinegar to clean my vinyl, and it works pretty well.

cp3 06-04-2007 7:35 AM

There is another guy that had that happen and he got it off but I cant remember how

malibuboarder75 06-04-2007 1:11 PM

That happened to us. We rode all day and at the end of the day it was gone. Don't know what to say.

sangeria 06-04-2007 1:18 PM

What's wrong with using the Magic Eraser???

tuneman 06-04-2007 1:18 PM

First, get a magic eraser right away and try to get some of it off. Second, let the sun do the work. It may take all summer, but the more you leave it in the sun, the faster it will disappear. I guarantee the sun will bleach it out. Just give it time; no worries.

rson 06-04-2007 1:19 PM

If I am not mistaken, HL will warranty the board cause it isn't supposed to do that.

The premiers a few years ago did the same thing.

info@hyperlite.co m

ncwake 06-04-2007 6:05 PM

I just bought a '05 premier and it did that on our vinyl. I need to get it off also.

metz213 06-04-2007 7:09 PM

Ya we've tried everything... Fantastik, Magic Eraser, bleach pen, goo gone, oops and nothing happened. The dealer just told us to let the sun try to get it out. So if I call Hyperlite will they send me a new board?

hatepain 06-04-2007 7:13 PM

The sun will do most of your work I've done a simular thing and it's nearly faded now with just 2 trips out in addition to Magic Eraser and 10:1 water bleach disultion.

carcrz 06-04-2007 7:39 PM

I'd contact HL & see if they can get something worked out for you.

deltaboy 06-04-2007 7:49 PM

That sucks. If you can make it look like an image of Mary you could then charge people to see it and pray, then just get a new interior or even boat if you wanted, amen.

(Message edited by deltaboy on June 04, 2007)

I called Hyperlite today and they said that it's called a bleeder board, and that they would replace the board and send you cleaner for your boat.

rson 06-05-2007 8:59 AM

Sell the cushion on ebay!!!!

Subject "Mary Cryed Tears of Love on the Holy Cushion"

I told you HL would hook you up.

metz213 06-06-2007 1:00 PM

So I just talked to Hyperlite and their sending me out cleaner and are going to replace my board. She's going to call me back so I was seeing what board you think I should get. I ride the 05 Byerly right now.

dabell 06-06-2007 1:15 PM

That is truly great customer support. Even more impressive when it is an older board like that.......

kevin_lsv23 06-07-2007 6:56 PM

Let me know what kind of cleaner they send you. Please.

metz213 06-13-2007 12:30 PM

Kevin- They sent me a bag of power Quick n' Brite with the instructions on how to use it. The sun is really starting to take it out tho.

brownman 06-13-2007 1:24 PM

Man that sucks. Don't know if you got this removed or not yet, but a couple of things. The more chemicals you put on it that don't get it out will set the stain and make it tougher to remove.

I one had an ink pen blow up on my old Four Winns. The ink had dried for about two weeks. I was able to get most of it out with elbow grease and denatured alcohol. Its cheap to try it, so you really lose nothing. Good luck.
