1. Bill Gates
2. Warren Buffet
3. Tim White
Everyone have a safe weekend!!

hatepain 05-23-2009 6:04 PM

Whens the IPO again?

rallyart 05-23-2009 10:44 PM

I heard a tale... Mrs. Gates was asked if there was any problem being married to the richest man in America. She replied, "All my friends have iPhones and Bill won't let me get one."
I don't know what Mrs. White would say.

poser007 05-23-2009 10:55 PM

Who's Tim White?

amo 05-24-2009 7:16 AM

I'm assuming the Tim White you guys are talking about is Tim White from Wetsounds, correct? And I also assume that Wetsounds is going public, correct?

hatepain 05-24-2009 8:21 AM

It's a joke and I'm assuming/guessing that Pro 60/80's are now the most oft ordered speaker sox.

amo 05-24-2009 8:34 AM

Ok, you got me. Not going public, but you are right hate, I'm sure they are up there in terms of how much product they move. Just got a chance to test out my 3-some for the first time yesterday-with a syn 6 amp-UNREAL! The guys could hear everything clearly. They make a great product, no doubt.

hatepain 05-24-2009 8:45 AM

I would love to hear that combo I bet it is amazing.

chuckc983 05-24-2009 9:33 AM

I don't think anyone would want to see Wetsounds go public - it might make the owner rich - but you would likely loose all that make the company great - once you are public - it's all about profit. Right now - it seems that Tim is running the company with a passion for a great product and 1st class customer service - how many public companies do that? Too many good companies sell too many shares - and eventually loose control of the company.

amo 05-24-2009 11:50 AM

Hate, it is stupid loud, like almost obnoxious. I don't crank it unless I have a wide berth on the lake.

themxercr85 05-24-2009 3:03 PM

Gates lives down the block from me, its nothing special tho hes always hiding in his cave, he doesnt even go to the gas station, he has guys go with gas cans to get it for him.

saceone 05-24-2009 3:10 PM

^^you mean there is no gas station on his property? bleh.

themxercr85 05-24-2009 7:08 PM

hahaha true, whats wrong with him

smuurph84 05-25-2009 4:36 PM

Yeah I just got to test out my pro 80's I hope to add the 485 in a month or so. I must have had 15 people come ask me about my system at the sand bar. Crazy loud and clear thanks Tim

michaelspsp 05-25-2009 6:03 PM

AMO, how about pics?

amo 05-25-2009 7:24 PM

Michael, I would love to, but I am completely retarded when it comes to loading that stuff on the computer. Where can I find instructions on posting pics?

I will say this for the setup, very light for how big they are, and ZERO tower sway.

Michael, haven't heard back yet from the guys at intracoastal products on the over the tower whole boat cover. He still has to build the template for the pickle fork X-Star last I heard.}

amo 05-25-2009 8:02 PM

Here you go. They put in a capacitor instead of a third battery.

amo 05-25-2009 8:05 PM

The boys at Midwest MC do great work. If you get this setup get the speaker socks. Keeps them clean and there is no difference in sound quality, at least to my ear.

tanner 05-25-2009 8:58 PM

Amo, just a heads up. A Capacitor is only a band-aid. It's not meant to help w/ long term playing. Only short term music spikes, and even then, only b/c something isn't set-up correctly. If your stereo is set-up correctly you shouldn't need one, nor should you want one. Just size your batteries and wiring accordingly, and you'll be much happier.

nwarhol1105 05-25-2009 11:52 PM

I love my Pro 80's! The WS-420 on the other hand, I am very disappointed with. After 2.5 weeks of use it was completely shot. Now its been about a 2 week process between my dealer checking internal fuses and now finally sending it down to Texas.

Amo, thats a sick setup! Congrats man.

michaelspsp 05-26-2009 6:00 AM

WOW!!! that is SWEET looking!!!

bchesley 05-26-2009 6:25 AM

Nick, be patient as everyone has a bad one every once in a while. I have had mine for a while and love it. You will to when they get a you a good one.....

amo 05-26-2009 7:14 AM

Tanner, thank you, that's what they told me as well. I don't do party coves so the third battery was not needed. I just wanted something to protect the amps from surges and the weird occasional power issues.

Thanks Nick, thanks Michael.

Nick, I wanted the WS-420 as well but was told it was unnecessary for what I use the boat for. I have a base control under dash mounted and a speaker dial; I can select all speakers or just the tower.

I'm sure you just got the one bad one out of a hundred. If I've learned anything on this site, it's that Tim White is "johnny on the spot" with issues like this.

michaelspsp 05-26-2009 4:52 PM

wow, base control and speaker dial under dash is brilliant. my x-star is an 04 so i am storing these ideas for a new boat next year!!! i just wonder if there is anybody in the NY/NJ area that understands boats to do the work.

roughrivermike 05-26-2009 6:13 PM

I too have helped Tim buy a house on some exotic island somewhere:
12 pro 80's
2 ws 420's
syn 2 amp
Worth ever penny!

wotan 05-26-2009 7:53 PM

AMO - Killer install. Who did the work and kept it that clean and out of the way? I'm impressed. Makes my DIY rats-nest look really embarrassing.

amo 05-27-2009 6:09 AM

Thanks Robert. The boys at Midwest Mastercraft in Crystal, Minnesota did the work. They make everything look like you got it from the factory that way. No way in hell I could do that!

wotan 05-27-2009 10:26 AM

Awesome. I know the guys up there but had no clue they did stereo install in-house at that level. Good to know!

john211 05-27-2009 11:54 AM

AMO - wish you'd get more handy posting pics. Nice. And the boat's sweet too. What other cool accessories or add-ons you got on that? Show us some more.

delta_kush 05-27-2009 2:35 PM

is wetsounds a great audio system? ive had a crappy upgraded clarion system with 2 amps and a 10 inch sub but my speakers crack everytime i turn the base up and im looking to replace my system what do you guys recommend

amo 05-27-2009 4:25 PM

Mike, there are lots of different ways to go stereo wise. Do you have a price point? What are you looking to accomplish with the system? I am partial to wetsounds, but there are other brands out there that are awesome. NVS, polk, Kicker, JL, just to name a few.

Thanks jb, haha, that was my first time posting pics, wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. I really don't have anything else stereo wise other than what you guys see in the pics. I have an xtra JL 10" free air sub as well. I love the system, very clear at low volume levels as well as high levels.
