Anybody know the distance that a boat must be from the shore/dock while pulling a skier? I've tried to find it on the net but am having no success. I thought that it was 100ft as of last year but haven't found the proof. The reason I ask is because my parents neighbor is saying that I'm washing away his shoreline, already 3ft less. This is the type of guy that complains about anything, so I wanna stay legal and cover my ase when I ride.

I believe it varies, some shorelines are only 100 feet, but off the public dock in Juanita Bay in Lake Washington it's 300 feet. But most shorelines should be marked with a sign or buoy, as long as you're outside the buoys, you should be fine...your profile says Moses Lake and I don't know anything about the boating regulations there, hopefully someone else on here does...

most places, regardless of how far you are from shore, you are liable from any damage caused by your wake. <BR> <BR>a good example is if you tear up docks when the water in the lake is a bit high. erosion is a little more difficult to prove.
