I have been messing with the weight and I have not yet found the right combination to allow me to get slack in the rope. So either the wake is not big enough or my skill is lacking. If you guys will tell me what ballast your placing and where your putting it and at what speed I would be very greatful.

We have a Eclipse V drive which is a little different but here is how we weight it. The ballast full, one fat sack and one water bed tube in the port side engine locker, one fat sack on the floor port side and one water bed sack port side on the rear seat. This creates a very nice surfing wake at about 10-11 mph.

Hmm not sure what you mean by slack in the rope.
I am by no means a expert but what I have found
is if you make your cut out then coast a bit before you cut back to the wake you will eliminate slack in the rope.

To weight a Elite V fill the factory tank, add a fat sack to either side of the engine and one in the open bow....then you should be ready to go BIG
By slack I think you mean slack that would develop if the wake begins to push you forward. So the basic question is how to weight you boat for a bigger wakesurfing wake.

ahh I missed the whole landlock thing

Put all the weight on one side of the boat and go about 10 or so, then make a slight turn so the surfer is on the inside of the turn and you should be set
