Men's Board for my wife?

hi, my wife finally agreed on getting her own board and bindings after using a friend's circa 2004 board and bindings which we thought was small for her. the thing is, among the boards and bindings that's right for her, what she really wanted was the 2008 Gator Gonzalez 134 which came with Gator closed toe bindings which actually fit her well.

so here i am asking, is there a big diff between mens and ladies boards in terms of ride in the same size? will my wife be better off with a board (and bindings) specifically made for women? or will it not matter as long as it fits her right?

we held of buying it coz i said i'll try to do some surfing on the net bout it first. here's the photo of the board -- she's an artist and actually fell in love with the graphics. i know it's not the graphics that count, but the board seemed designed and built well.

your opinions and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Board

Biggest thing is to make sure that the board size and boot size work well. Most companies sell girl boards and have the exact same model with different name under the mens boards. Size her up and get what ever works well...

Ride on...

Yeah, women's specific boards are generally a men's board with a girlie graphic scheme. I've always ridden a men's board (a) because I don't have to ask what board is this (under the graphics) & (b) I'm not in to pink or light blue. I'm sure your wife will do just fine without the pretty colors. ;-D

kat, that's the thing, she's also not into these 'pretty' colors. :) well i'm happy with what she likes anyways, seems like a good set of board and bindings. thanks again!
