A lot of us minnesotans took our first sets last year at the end of March!

2011 MN spring ride - better than anyone expected
2012 MN spring ride - pulled with the G23 (probably one of the first few events to be pulled with it?) and Danny Harf competes!
2013 MN spring ride - should be siiiick...

On another note. WIth Ryan Taylor being at the past 2 events, why havent we seen numerous photo albums posted. Or am I completely missing it. Pics from past events would certainly build some stoke for new people to come out.

ironj32 01-07-2013 9:56 AM

This year should be about 3x's bigger and better than any previous year, in all aspects.

ironj32 02-17-2013 5:40 AM

Suppose it's about time for that location update. This year we will be at Cragun's Resort on Gull Lake (Steamboat Bay), in Brainerd. I've been working on getting the permit since last June, so I'm super stoked to finally be able to announce this. Hopefully the wind will play nice while we are there!

So far, the prize purse for Saturday's Red Bull On The Line double-up contest is at $7,000, but my goal is to get it to $10,000+

The location, prizes, parties and all the activities will really be stepped up this year.

ironj32 02-17-2013 5:45 AM

Oh yea, forgot to mention that we are working on a superb list of competitors this year.

The first special guest we'd like to announce is Scott Stewart. In case you haven't seen him ride before, check out this video!

ironj32 02-17-2013 5:51 AM

Of course, Minnesota's very own Colin Ryan will be there as well.

ironj32 02-18-2013 11:08 AM

A little refresher course on the riding of Colin.

garveyj 02-19-2013 6:23 AM

hey Jay - any word on lodging or is that still in the works?

ironj32 02-19-2013 7:55 AM

Jeff, shoot me an email with your requirements on lodging. We're going to try to be a little more structured this year, since the resort is so big. jay.fogelson@gmail.com.

ironj32 02-19-2013 8:08 AM

Actually, I just got a room list from the resort. I'll post up the different options on here.

garveyj 02-20-2013 10:00 AM

Thanks Jay - post it up here when you have a minute or just email it to me. Not looking for anything specific - want to see rates first and go from there.

ironj32 04-02-2013 12:50 PM

Thanks, Will! It's been a lot of work, but it's definitely been worth it. Hopefully we can get out on the water together this season...it's been a while!

I forgot to mention that I just stood up a new website for it, check it out when you get time. www.mnspringride.com.

will5150 04-02-2013 1:36 PM

Thanks, Steve! I'll let you know if there's something I could use help on.

Here are a couple shots of this years tow boat. I finally picked her up and brought her home today.

boardman74 04-05-2013 7:40 PM

That is sweet!!!

sppeders 04-11-2013 6:08 AM

Will the ice be off in time for the Spring Ride?

ferral 04-12-2013 5:04 AM

^^^That's not funny

garveyj 04-12-2013 5:42 AM

x2 - Totally not funny

ironj32 04-14-2013 6:02 AM

Just a reminder that if you have not gotten your cabin's reserved, you'll want to do so soon. There have been over 20 reserved already and there are only about 5 or so left. We'll be doing a big retail marketing campaign throughout MN, WI and IA so I anticipate that everything will eventually get reserved.

sppeders 04-24-2013 7:04 AM

http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/ice_out/index.html

nice website to watch the northerly movement of ice outs.

monkey_butt 04-24-2013 9:09 AM

you mean ice in? ;-)

monkey_butt 04-24-2013 9:14 AM

but it's actually interesting - this year we seem to change the map for latest 'ice out' dates quite a bit

RideGull 05-05-2013 12:50 PM

Don't forget to wash your boat, trailer, stock ballast, and extra ballast bags if you're coming from a lake or river with invasive species! I'd hate to see milfoil in the Gull Chain :(
