help with boat selection

I have a limited budget and have been looking at early model boats. I kind of have my heart set on a 1995ish nautique super sport V drive. Problem is that it seems to be rather scarce in my corner of the world and budget. I missed a nice one on CL by two days :(.
The budget is 10K +/- a scosh.
I run in salt and will require a well built boat and an open bow. I have looked at the late 80's Malibu sunsetters but they all have rotten stringers and underwhelming build quality.

I am not asking for actual listings. This is a request for ideas of boats that perhaps I am overlooking.
Thank you.
John

In 06 when I was looking to upgrade to a v-drive I had narrowed it down to two boats. Super Sport/Super Air or Sanger V210. Both boats were so hard to find used, because they sold so fast, I wound up buying a new V210.

Thanks for the response Jay. Unfortunately the current dept load prohibits a new or even mostly new boat. I still cant believe I missed that one. 92 open bow V drive with tower and trailer for 7K. Two friggen days. Rats.

That does sound like a smokin deal. Not sure where you're at but out here in Cali v drives are cheaper than in past years. Still looking at 15k and up for something decent. Direct drive open bow can be had for a little less.
