Im getting ready to buy a CWB set up and Im a little hesitant with all the talk about boards breaking. Are the boards not durable or is it user error? With the exception of a slider how the hell to you snap a board. You would have to be a big guy riding a small board.

I don't think CWB's necessarily break more than any other company (some of you here may be surprised to hear me say that), but its moreso that more people here ride CWB in general. Obviously if, say, 90 people here ride CWB and 1 person rides a different company, you will hear about the CWB more.

Depending on what you are doing, however, you should be able to get warranty on it. With the exception of sliders.

I think maybe some people are harder on boards than others. I have had an absolute for the past 3 seasons which I ride 3-5 times per week and it is still in great shape. I bought a 07 transcend this fall for a change, but the old board is still perfectly good. I am also not all that big at about 155lbs I have only legitametaly broken one board in the past 10 years of riding and it was cause I cased the wake hard off a double up the board was an Double Up Nelson. I also broke a Liquid force subjekt the first time I rode it but I think it must have been a press of boards. So far no CWB breaking for me.

Yea that makes sense. I guess CWB is alot bigger in Cali then in Florida. Even Performance in Orlando does not have much CWB gear. They sell alot of Liquid and Hyper.I still want the board I just wanted some opinions.

How do you like the Trans? I love that board.

In the past the CWB rep was real quick to get you hooked up....you did have to be under 15 and male though.

CWB boards don't break any more than any other company out there. They ALL break!!

Duffy, I made the call for you, I should hear something tomorrow. I'll call you...

so far I like the transcend alot. It is much better than the 05/06 IMO. The 05/06's were to slow for me. The 07 doesn't feel as slow. Pop is still good.

-Mike- Its not that I don't ride hard enough I just don't land my backroll on the other wake and flat like you do. I am pretty sure the is the downfall of most of your boards.

mjmurphy53711 10-11-2006 8:32 PM

i know the mexi is too mexi, I also think the downfall is 3 boards this year was 30 extra pounds haha.

waketac 10-11-2006 11:22 PM

I haven't seen a regular CWB Board break. But I've seen alot of Platinums break, even seen an 06 Absolute Platinum break completly in half, two parts, right at the landing.
