K, I guess i'm quite the slow learner but this summer I've just been working on my comfort riding and my consistancy in pop and in the process, learning to throw in some grabs and stuff. Went up to a friend's cottage with a bunch of people that have never boarded, so I brought my gear so they could learn. Honestly it was one of the best boarding days i've ever had just because I was able to teach 8 new people how to get up and ride a bit and every one of them did! Anyway, here are 2 pictures from the weekend (it was the august long weekend). We were riding behind a 1991 Doral and just threw a rope on the back and just goin' out and havin a blast.

The first pic is one of my friends who learned to ride that day. She's a snowboarder, so once she was up, started going for the wake right away...first attempt at chargin' the wake and she dipped her nose when comin down off the first wake. Just a classic pic. Second picture is my first tail grab on camera. Nothing too spectacular, just proud that we got the pic and thought I would share!

Anybody else get any of their goals on camera this summer that they'd like to share??

oh yes, I remember those days. I rode behind an old fish/ski with a johnson 85 outboard on the back for about 5 years. Rockin' the shapiro directional - those were the days...

Nice grab...now if I can just get my w2w consistent maybe I can start throwing in some cool stuff

I wish I knew the days before a tower, I've never ridden behind anything besides our Larson I/O.

Oh yea when the skylon came out everyone thought it was the best thing in the world

Days before a tower? We're still riding without one unless someone with a tower offers a ride. I'd go behind just about anything if it gets me up out of the water.

Wait i don't get it. They actually made boats without towers. That is just plain stupid.

Ya, been spoiled lately...my two rides are either a SAN 210 Team, or Mobius LSV...slightly larger wakes than the Doral ;-)

yeah, when you used to get pole dancers all the time with the ol fly high? Towers are great, but not much pole dancing going on in the boat anymore

I sure do remember those days. It was also a very popular topic on wakeworld seeing "How to build your own tower" type threads and pages of answers.

At nationals there were a couple trivia questions about the roots of tricks or old school wakeboarders, I was very surprised at how few people even recognized some of the names.

I didn't get it right but it was a question about which female boarder used to ride with the guys back in the day. My guess was Tara Hamilton, and the guys I were talking to were all "Who?"
