We just de-winterized our '05 VLX (with Monsoon 340) and put it back in the water for the first time this spring. One thing that concerned me when we were cruising around was the oil pressure gauge. It constantly read between 45 PSI (at idle and slow speeds) and 75 (at cruising speeds). I was just wondering if these seem normal to you? The gauge only goes to 80 PSI, so it seems odd for the "average" range to be that far to the right. The Malibu manual suggests that oil pressure should be atleast 40 PSI at cruising speeds, but doesn't mention what is oil pressure is considered "high". I've been looking through the Indmar manual but can't find anything concrete.

P.S. All fluids all full, and the boat was serviced a week before it was winterized.

Change out the oil filter and try again. The bypass could be plugged or rusted shut. It does not seem too high, but the oil filter is cheap and the most common cause of elevated oil pressure.
