Am thinking about checking out DP for the 4th o' July. I heard the fireworks are pretty good. Anybody been on the 4th? Is it just too crazy?

The fireworks are good but the sheriffs are all over the water preventing any unsafe behavior.

We shore camped there a few years ago for the 4th. Lots of people on the lake. Careful with your drinking, the water cops have no tolerance for it at all. They actually setup a camp for themselves by the dam for the whole weekend. I must have seen 2 dozen boats getting towed in by the Sherrifs. Also, the water conditions suck unless you go out really early, or really late. <BR> <BR>mb
