Got lucky and met a really cool group from Ohio while down at Norris Lake and got a couple of pulls behind the G23 they were on. My friend got a shot of what is now the biggest raley I've ever thrown...stoked about having a nice pic of it!

MIKEnNC 07-28-2013 8:55 PM

That's huge! Nice man that's what up. Has anyone ever started a raley thread with pictures? That would be cool to see.

machloosy 07-29-2013 4:44 AM

Legit!!

wakebordr11 07-29-2013 5:56 AM

This guy clearly isn't scared... Nice raley man, using that G wake how its supposed to be done! That likely isn't even the high point of your trip, was it?

biggator 07-29-2013 6:36 AM

Holy crap that's big.

timmyb 07-29-2013 7:38 AM

skiboarder 07-29-2013 7:56 AM

That picture is straight apple-pie, bald-egales and old-glory. If you don't like that photo, you're a communist.

nuckledragger 07-29-2013 7:53 PM

HUGE!

Still waiting for someone to say it.......wait for it......

holdsworth 07-29-2013 8:17 PM

Thanks for all the positive feedback! Much appreciated!!!

Was a huge stoke day for me, rode this set behind the G23 just a few hours before riding behind the X-Star used on Pro Tour at a competition in Knoxville. One of the best days of my life, to be honest haha

cjh1669 07-29-2013 8:19 PM

Is it just Me or does that G23 have one tall tower?

It actually does have a pretty tall tower. When I rode it the first time it felt as if it was pulling my upward more. It's so much boat that once it starts running on plane there's a lot more boat above the surface, too.

Ok first off, AMAZING pic!!!! Wow! Now you rode a G23 basically back to back with a new star! Please report your experience on the diff in wakes an such!!!

SS_Hooke102 07-30-2013 7:55 AM

You are a champion sir, everyone is mentioning how their knees feel, but what I want to know is could you walk the next day? lol :)

holdsworth 07-30-2013 2:37 PM

Haha, my knees are doing pretty good and I was able to walk. Not very well because I drove the 8 hours home right after the competition so between riding both boats and the drive, I was done!

G23 - 13 adults, 1/2 ballast full (I think only half... 7/8 wasn't letting us get on plane), NCRS set at 3, speed at 24mph, rope at 80ft. Wanted a more mellow shape, so I left the NCRS alone instead of play around with it, which I'll get other chances to change it around. Huge wake, really nice shape for both the bottom end and the top end, steepened up quicker than my normal liking, but once I got used to it, I really liked it a lot. Little bit of a boot off the top, but not enough to make me feel out of control. Every hit was consistent, timing was my only issue since I had so much more time for each trick. Can't wait to get behind one again!

X-Star - Not sure on weight setup besides full ballast, some lead, and 4-5 adults. Rope at 80ft, speed was 24.5mph (I asked for 24mph so I'm not sure if cruise was off a little or if driver put me there based on knowledge). The wake was awesome, I loved it. It seemed to be about the same shape as mine (2004 X-Star) when I have it fully loaded and a little bow heavy, just about 30% bigger. Smooth on the bottom, nice transition up, tall, and it was slightly lippy on top. Normally I don't like a lip on it but it was at a perfect point to where it didn't bother me a bit. Only got a down-and-back pass on it, so I definitely need more time behind it and in it to really get a feel for it, but based on what I was on, that's what I got. I'll be riding behind the new X-Star regularly (around classes and such)... I'm interested to see how it is once we play around with it.

holdsworth 07-30-2013 2:47 PM

And I'm hoping for a picture comparison...I threw a 911 in competition that felt pretty tall, so I'm anxiously waiting to see if that picture emerges somewhere.

markj 07-30-2013 10:37 PM

Dang! I'd be blowin that picture up, framing it and hangin it over my fireplace mantel. Oh to be young again... A word of old man advice: enjoy those knees while you have them. Just don't forget they have a shelf life.

will5150 07-31-2013 10:46 AM

Nuckledragger.... PHOTOSHOPPED???? I don't thing so...

will5150 07-31-2013 10:47 AM

The first one I mean- the second pic - definitely...

holdsworth 07-31-2013 12:24 PM

will5150 I think he's waiting for a "that's what she said" haha

pnichols 07-31-2013 1:41 PM

Adam, that's my buddy Dave's boat you took a set behind. I had another friend show me that pic this Monday......and you're right super cool dude. That is an awesome shot.

pprior 08-01-2013 11:58 AM

For the technically challenged - my post was sarcastic and definitely photoshopped (the 2nd one). The first was so huge it just makes the second one look almost real :)

holdsworth 08-03-2013 8:40 PM

Paul, Thanks man!!! Yeah, Dave was really cool, and so was everyone else in his group. I had a blast with them when we were out, I'd like to get together with all of them again. One of the girls even graduated from my high school which was pretty crazy, it's a small school/community. Small world!

pprior haha you're good bro! That photoshopped pic is awesome, I saved it on my phone.
