just tinkering with the idea of taking the "SKI" decal off our boat. Is it tough and are there any cons?

use a blow dryer and slowly go from one end of the decal to the other while peeling it off at the same time. it takes a little while to loosen the stick. the heat makes it easier to peel by softening the stick but still be careful and go slow. then use an appropriate glue remover for any glue that's left. this is how my dealer did mine.

We took a large logo off the back sides of our Tige', it was less than a month old so they didn't have time to bake on. But anyway they came off very easily. But Joe is right the hair dryer should help if the sticker is tough to peel. The only downside I can think of is if it is on a colored part of the boat and it has faded a little, you might see a contrast. Otherwise no downside.

Use Goo Gone to take off the remaining residue, that stuff works like a champ. If you have a faint outline of the sticker still remaining you can lightly sand it with water and very fine sandpaper and buff it out. I had someone do this for my boat and it looked brand new, you could not tell there was a sticker that had been there for a while.

Use a plastic drywall scraper with the blow dryer to get the sticker started or get trouble spots off.Goo gone after for remaining residue.
