Anybody have pics or can describe their tow-able slider set-up?? I'm building one now, 2 tubes, PVC over the top the width of the wake, 2x4s in the PVC, tow rope on each tube.. Will it work??

_jason_ 09-09-2006 11:28 PM

"Sparky Jay" Has one on here. He'll probably pop his head in this thread and give ya some more information.

There is a towable slider in Counterfeit This. Its only shown in one scene when Harf hits it. Its not very large at all, but I think its a great idea.

aden_g 09-10-2006 3:10 PM

It would be pretty hard to build a 100' towable slider <IMG SRC="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/happy.gif" ALT=":-)" BORDER=0>

spunnnn 09-10-2006 7:53 PM

Ya, it would...who said any thing about a 100' slider??

wkbrd 09-10-2006 8:27 PM

Kevbo- Dont you know that Aden rides at 100 ft! Aden I see you have still become none wiser.

That's what I'm talk'n bout!!

isler 09-11-2006 8:05 PM

Towable slider we built in Montana in 2004. Same concept as above... two large tubes, plywood discs, and 2x4's to connect the two. <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/367733.jpg" alt="Upload">

wake_upppp 09-11-2006 8:10 PM

Jason, mines actually a floating kicker. But I'm thinking about making it into a slider.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/happy.gif" border=0> Isler...nice job! That's plain sick!

spunnnn 09-11-2006 8:27 PM

Soooooooo sick!!! C'mon, you gota post some pics of you sliding that!! i'll post mine when i'm done, but I think i need to start over after seeing then kink action. Do you have to collapse it when your done?

timsown 09-11-2006 8:31 PM

Kev - How can I help? That looks like fun.

_jason_ 09-11-2006 8:47 PM

whoopps. i thought he ment a transportable slider <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/crazy.gif" border=0> *im an idiot* haha

spunnnn 09-11-2006 9:00 PM

Jason, lets see it! Tim, I need to make some changes, I'll let you know.

_jason_ 09-11-2006 9:02 PM

Kevbo.. im sure Sparky will post some pics. Its not a tube to tube slider but its pretty sweet looking. Built on a smaller boat and towable to where ever you wanna put it.

boarder_x 09-11-2006 9:34 PM

I'll give you a hand Kev. I could use some time working somewhere other than "Geek City."

I've been working on drawing up a design myself, was even figuring out away to use a quick release device so you would not get run over if you went off the front. Love to collaberate with you guys on this if you do build one.

ktmwakeboarder 09-12-2006 7:13 PM

those are awesome

mossy44 09-13-2006 6:28 AM

sparky - once you tow that thing out there, how do you anchor it?

wake_upppp 09-13-2006 6:18 PM

Matt, I have three cement anchors each with 100 feet of rope, I hang two off the transom hooks and one off the front hook and it stays put. It's for sale by the way.

spunnnn 09-23-2006 2:31 PM

Hey Mike or Dave, How long of a rope do you use? Have you ever fallen off the front and got hit by the slider? Have the water cops ever had a problem with it towing a slider??

mjmurphy53711 09-23-2006 2:58 PM

its legal to use a floating slider as long as you take it down each day, falls under the same terms as anchoring your boat for the afternoon.

spunnnn 09-23-2006 4:26 PM

That's cool, what about my other questions??

isler 09-23-2006 4:57 PM

Kevbo - as far as rope length, it depends on the width of the slider. You want to adjust the rope longer or shorter to find the sweet spot, where the wake is the right width for the slider. Yeah, I saw a few riders get run over by it, going over the front. No injuries though... but definitely build it as carefully as possible. No exposed nails on the bottom or anything. No problem with the cops, as it was on a private lake.

spunnnn 09-30-2006 6:10 PM

Should work. Just need a 10' piece of TREX. Tim said he would try it first!!!<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/374870.jpg" alt="Upload"><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/biggrin.gif" border=0>

watersnake 09-30-2006 9:07 PM

Look's good kev, If I see you guy's out there I'll get some chase pic's for ya.

boarder_x 09-30-2006 10:02 PM

Kevin, <BR> <BR> I told you I'd help you put it together. ... <BR> <BR> ... Since you didn't take me up on the offer, do I still get to try it?

spunnnn 10-01-2006 8:33 AM

Ya, we'll get on it. I'm on a strict budget so the 10' $20 TREX is on hold. So far I'm in about $30 on this project.

timsown 10-01-2006 7:48 PM

Dude, buy the Trex...I'll cover the cost. So are we riding in the rain this week?
