That guy is a typical example of what many call "The greatest generation" Many of these young men were 17 and 18 years old and the things they did and things what they were responsible for were truly amazing. The missions they did with out question and great risk they took for this country is truly inspiring. Many of these story's die with them. When these guys pass on I don't think we will see the likes of them anytime soon.

awesome! I love that find of stuff

My wife's grandparents were first generation Japanese Americans. They lived on Oahu along with many of her great aunts and uncles, when Pearl Harbor was attacked.
In total, there were six of my wife's relatives that were working in the cane fields when the Japanese Zeros flew over the mountain range, across the fields and on to Pearl Harbor.
I had the privilege of interviewing these men on camera. I just wish that I had had an ounce of interviewing skills.
I haven't watched those videos in a long time....I guess it's time to dig them out
